Help support this game and Dreamverse Entertainment by giving Ouroboros: Prelude a "Yes" vote on Greenlight!
Trapped in a dungeon where the very darkness seems to writhe. The halls echo with hellish tones. How long has it been since you have been imprisoned? You can scarcely remember why. Starvation and deprivation has begun to rob you of your senses. You just remember red. Everything about this place is red.
Discover why you were imprisoned and find a way out. Be wary, you are not alone in this dark place. You are being watched. You are being hunted. The shadows haunt your every footstep. The evil that lurks here will not allow you to leave. Can you find the answers that are locked away in this labyrinth? Can you find the way out before you lose yourself forever? Or are you doomed to play out the endless cycle of insanity over and over and over…? Can you escape this living nightmare?
Follow the story of Ouroboros as it begins with Prelude. You wake up in a cell. You remember very little. Your name is James. You are an apothecary. You were brought deep into the Holy Roman Empire by a count to help him with research. You found something you should not have. And that you have a brother who will be in danger if you cannot get out alive.
It has been a while since the last update. Unavoidable and unforeseen problems of life and health arose but I am back with updates.
With the release of Version 0.9.0 comes some new features:
3 new scares.
2 new randomized rooms.
Expanded upon previous randomized rooms.
Tweaked item balance.
1 new area type.
Expanded upon a previous level.
1 new puzzle.
Added more journal pages.
Cave systems and another game mechanic are in the works. I have also begun work on the voice overs for the journals. That... may take a while because I am a perfectionist, there is a LOT to record, and getting everything to sound JUST right is tedious.
I plan on beginning VR development soon but that is most certainly going to take a while and may very well end up being a DLC or something... I do not know. We shall see.
Due to the previously mentioned "life and health" problems development of Ouroboros: Prelude may slow a bit. It will not stop but unfortunately I cannot invest my every waking hour on this project anymore. I am thinking updates maybe every 2 - 4 weeks compared to the many, many updates I had done per single week.
I hope to continue churning out updates as soon as I am able. Until then....
Stay sane! ...And healthy!
Thank you to everyone who upvoted and left comments. You guys are the best. The game will be finished by the end of the month if all goes well. VR support...
Ouroboros: Prelude. Escape the darkness before it consumes you.
