FAQ

What kind of game is Omegalodon?

Omegalodon is a multi-player action game for Windows and Mac featuring an open, totally destructible world and a retro aesthetic. Players can choose to be the monster, who smashes the city and tramples trees, or humans, who can choose from dozens of unique drivable vehicles for transportation and combat. Players select between the Red or Green Team, and assist their teammates in carrying out the objective of either defending the city (Red Team) or destroying it while escorting the monster (Green Team).

Does Omegalodon have a story?

Yes! In this game you'll find full voice acting and an engaging but subtle plot that upholds, rather than interferes with, the gameplay. Briefly stated, it chronicles the story of Omegalodon, the last of his kind, who finds himself being commanded by Trudy, a slightly psychotic scientist, to destroy the Strontium City nuclear power plant. Trudy's hope is to return the island to nature, but her efforts are constantly opposed by Pressworth, the president of a multinational conglomerate who commands a powerful paramilitary force.

Is there a single-player mode?

No, the game is multi-player only.

How many players does Omegalodon support?

There's no hard-limit on the number of players - it's whatever the host's computer can handle. The game was designed with 16-24 players in mind, but could work with just 4 or more.

How do I join a game?

Omegalodon has a built-in server browser, so joining is simply a matter of choosing from a list. If you have a decent computer, you can also host a game for others to join with a few clicks. There aren't any dedicated servers - Omegalodon is a drop-in, drop-out game hosted by peers.

When is the release date?

This Friday, March 9th!
Due to delays on Desura's side, release will take a bit longer. Should be within a day or two.

This looks awesome. It wasn't to appealing at first but the introduction of vehicles and multiplayer made it a lot better.

The controls can be seen at the configuration screen at startup. Click the controls tab. If you are having trouble connecting, try running the game as an Administrator from:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Desura\Common\omegalodon

You can also find a readme there.
