cannot select tile that is clear to the right Thread - OGS Mahjong

The game got into a state where it would not allow me to select any tile that was clear on the right, unless it had been clear on the right in the original setup. After the game had started and I had lost once, I went into the layout selector and looked at a couple of the layouts, Castle View and Cat if I recall correctly, but then returned to Default. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Windows 7 x64, playing in a 1024x768 window.

Can you provide a screenshot?

I will attempt to replicate. But I don't know if a screenshot will help. What would you want a screenshot of?

Steps to replicate:
Start playing a layout. Remove some tiles - it doesn't matter which.
Go into the "Change layout / game" (three boxes, upper left corner) options menu.
Click a few other layouts.
Cancel.
Start removing tiles.
At some point, a tile or a set of tiles which is clear on the right will refuse to select. This may be accompanied (it was in at least one of my replication attempts) by a tile that you did not select and which was impossible to select being removed.
