As of today, Magic and Machines continue to co-exist for the benefit of humanity.

We call this age... Novus Centuria.

THE STORY

NOTED TIMELINES

PRE-DISCOVERY OF THE RUNECASTING ARTS - THE INDUSTRIAL AGE

The industrial age highlighted the discovery, study and development of machines for mankind. This age spanned thousands of years from the creation of mankind up until the discovery of the Runecasting arts.

THE DISCOVERY OF THE RUNECASTING ARTS AND THE HUNDRED-YEAR WAR BETWEEN MAGIC AND MACHINES - THE CENTURY CLASH

The discovery of the Runecasting Arts by the scholars now known as The Century Runekeepers gained respect, and fear among humanity, especially the Machine purists. They made the Runecasting Arts a threat to the world, thus waging a hundred-year war between Runecasting practicioners and the Machine Purists, which was dubbed as The War That Must Not Be Remembered.

The war ended after the Century Runekeepers sacrificed themselves to the Machine Purists. The latter group dissolved after the war without notice.

FROM THE DEATH OF THE CENTURY RUNEKEEPERS TO PRESENT - NOVUS CENTURIA

The sacrifice made by the Century Runekeepers awakened the people and made them accept the formerly feared Arts. From then on, humanity have used magic and machines hand-in-hand to forge a new road for humanity's progress.

THE SETTING OF THE GAME

On the 148th year of Novus Centuria (148 NC), a threat to humanity had emerged-- an evil force called Deviarcs.

The Deviarcs, whose objectives are still unknown, started to create chaos all over Earth, from destroying cities, creating conflicts between nations and spreading diseases. In attempt to counter the threat, The Battlearts Circle was created, accepting only the elite Arts practitioners-- the Battleartists, and further training them to become the ultimate line of defense against the Deviarcs.

On 153 NC, The Circle have noticed a possible pattern on the Deviarcs' moves. Though they attack on all areas of the world, there have been concentrated attacks on certain areas they tagged as [insert suggestion for name here]. The Circle are now gathering elites from their respective guilds to eliminate threats from these areas and search for clues on the Deviarcs' motives.
