It is 25 years since peace was brought to the solar system, thanks to the inspired leadership of Marcus Cromwell, Commander of the Allied Fleet. It was he who defeated the forces of the soulless mechanoid called the Entity and, with the help of the mysterious artificial goddess known as Angel, threw off the shackles of slavery from mankind...

Really lazy advertising by the team, and I am surprised that no major website have picked this up yet. I fear we won't reach the goal in time.

Based on how the Kickstarter page is written, I think the idea was for Nexus fans to find this, hype it up for them, then let the inevitable cavalcade ensue. However, in my opinion, the description is WAY too descriptive, spends too much time convincing the reader why the game is a good idea, and seems geared more towards publishers and other developers - heck, the description even has a dedicated "costs and benefits" section! Simply trimming it down to a one paragraph (two at most) explaining why the game is, why it's awesome, and why you should care to buy it and trust them would be sufficient.

However, that said, I will give them one thing - they don't seem to try and convince people that you should Kickstart the game solely because they're 'so-and-so' famous developer/writer/what-have-you they've never heard about yet should somehow be swayed by their mere presence. It's interesting, really: if they've never heard of you, no amount of explanation about yourself and/or your history will be enough to solely convince people to Kickstart your project, yet if if they have, and they like you, no amount will be needed - they'll already be Kickstarting your project anyways!

yeah its optimistic but sadly optimistic is what you need to make a quality game. if you want a crap sequel to one of the most entertaining RTS games produced, by all means, go ahead and settle for 400k or so.

I don't really understand how this went so bad.

Nexus was a great game and has a great following...and everyone was praying for a sequel....

But now that the chance arrived...it fell flat!

I had no idea the kickstarter was running. Just sent a direct message from the project page. I expect there are lots of people who simply had no idea the project was running. I'm sure I'm one amongst thousands who would been exceptionally keen to pay good money for Nexus 2!
