Natural Selection 2 is the sequel to the popular Half-Life mod Natural Selection. It is built on our own engine and will be distributed through Valve's Steam platform.
NS2 will feature 3D dynamic infestation, The current 2D test mockup has revealed a problem with providing marines with an early combat solution to DI prior to Flamethrowers so the solution is to give the marines some key heartline points that they can shoot at, just shooting at the floor does not have any feel to it, Flamethrowers will still play a role in breaking connections between Pustules and burning off the creep.
Cory has drawn up 5 choices for use, we want you to choose your favourite Pustule design or a combination of a couple you think might work best.
Thank you all for the Phasgate feedback, a concept was drawn based on a popular choice of the combination of 2 of the designs that many requested to see.
I vote 1, then 5, then 2.
2 and 5; 2 looks like a pustule that has been there for a while, and 5 just looks badass.
4 & 5 look realistic to me.

I choose number 5. It looks like a connector site, with all those tentacles. Which by description I believe you are looking for something that can attach to other things of the same type.

a mix between 3 and 4 is what i would like, those little plates + those vines would look cool in my opinion.
I think I like 5 or 4 the most, but to be honest 1 and 2 are nice as well. 3 would definitely not be my choice.

I don't like 1 because it's too clean, too perfect.
I don't like 2 and 3 because the hard, armor-like parts don't fit with the characteristics of the rest of the Infestation. I especially don't like the small tentacles of 3
5 is all right, but I still prefer 4 over 5.
They all look nice (if you can say this for an pustule^^) but my favourites are 2 and 5

I say a 2-5 mixture
4 and 5 are the most "realistic" ones in my opinion, the most likely ones to exist.
However I do like number 3 as it has those tentacles(:D) coming out of it, as if it were to grow and spread, it's just that with such details as that people tend to recognize it if it's being reused in several places, if the tentacles were to fall off after it has spread some infestation, however, then it would definitely be a considerable choice.
