It looks like it! I can't wait for this, it gives me a reason to stay in the nether and explore it more!
since its use was long distance travel it only makes sense to have some premade routes.

the strongholds in the real world should be not 1-3 per map. but 1 per 1000000 chunks!
that sounds like less actually, how many people are actually going to explore that many chunks to get only a thrid of what they might get from the current ammount.
I hope there will be new npc's like demons, nether guards or something similar.
I have a feeling that there will be more creatures in the nether.

Hmmm,quite a good structure,generator seems to be more stable and will generate these in a better way.I wonder if there's gonna be good treasure or any treasure in these,if so than yay!
I was just building a temple to a nightmare god in the nether the other day. Hopefully, Mojang makes my efforts redundant.

The nether is reminding me more and more of The Ways from The Wheel of Time series.
What the Nether needs is more types of unique blocks.

in 1.8 there is a npc that hasnt ben annonced! It doesnt has a name get toomantitems and look for a block that you havent seen before! it is in this pic is you breck it there will come a new monster
You're likely speaking about the Silverfish which can be found in strongholds when you break the stone bricks.
It will be soon to reopen the portal once again.
This reminds me of the deep roads in Dragon Age.
i hope that those bricks are ghast-proof, otherwise, traveling over one over a lava lake would be suicide.
