Milkmaid of the Milky Way is a 90s style point-and-click adventure game with puzzles, exploration and an exciting story.
Deep in a fjord, a girl and her bovine,
Western Norway, nineteen-twenty-nine.
This is a story from Calf Ledge,
a farm perched on a mountain edge.
It's 1920's Norway, and you play as Ruth, a young woman who lives alone on a remote farm at the end of a faraway fjord. You take care of your cows and make delicious dairy products that your friend sells in the closest town. But life is hard and work is tough, and Ruth ponders: Is this really the life I want? It's not easier when mysterious things start happening to you and your cows.
And then a huge, mysterious ship descends from the skies, turning Ruth's life upside-down.
Milkmaid of the Milky Way is a classic point-and-click adventure game that combines an exciting story with puzzles and exploration.
It's also written completely in rhyme! If you like unique games like Loom, Broken Age and Monkey Island you should give this a try!
90s style point-and-click adventure game coming to PC, Mac and iOS 5th of January 2017!
For almost two years I've been working on my labour of love, an old-school puzzle adventure game in the style of the classic adventure games of the early 90s.
The setting is a fjord in 1920’s Norway, where Ruth, the protagonist runs a small farm all by herself after her parents passed. Life is hard and the dairy business isn’t great, and mysterious things keep happening to her and her cows. Then one day a giant, golden spaceship arrives, sending Ruth on a journey that will take her far away from everything she knew.
The gameplay is based on puzzles and exploration and I've tried keeping the difficulty level at a comfortable level for both beginners and veterans. It's also written completely in rhyme, and combined with the settings and the exciting story, the player is in for a unique experience!
The game will be released for Mac and PC on the Steam platform, and on iOS on the App Store on January 5th, 2017.
