[March 19th, 2014 UPDATE] Version 4.5.1 Fix - Enables Cheats for Skirmish and COOP.
Cheats mod - Assault Squad 4.5.1 Fix
A mod that enables cheats-like system ingame
Installation:
# Copy the CheatsMod folder to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Men of War Assault Squad\mods
# Start the game. Go to options and from there to mods tab.
Enable the cheatsmod there.
You get:
Cheats:
# Godmode
Infinite: Health, Armor, Stamina and Fuel.
# Aimrange+Accuracy
You will gain huge aim range and accuracy. Never miss again.
# Instant Kill
This will make enemy infantry and tanks be killed by just one shot of a gun.
# Add money
You will gain 1000 per click (but I've set a maximum of 4500, don't ask me why)
Spawn-able units:
# Infantry
You will gain access to 7 different infantry squads.
# Ammo Drop
A single drop will give you a paradrop ammo crate!
# Tanks/Vehicles
Choose from 11 different tanks/vehicles to spawn.
# Artillery
Artillery is what you need in a battle. You have 7 to pick soldier!
# Airplanes
These can be a crucial part in battle. Drop 'm bombs skipper!
Other stuff:
# Delete spawned units
With this you can delete all cheatsmod created stuff
# Switch country
Want to make use of the enemy's tanks or infantry? Go ahead.
Fixes:
{clear? error should be fixed
Delete option is working better (still have to do some tankmen.)
4.5.0 :
- Reworked menu system (might not look like reworked, but I spent atleast 2 hours to get it right.)
- New menu icons trying to reflect WW2 a bit more.
- Change country button now functions as dynamic menus. You'll see what I mean.
- Delete button only shows when atleast one cheatsmod unit is created.
- Added 2 extra vehicles per faction.
- And probably more fixes that I forgot to mention
4.5 - 11 march FIX
- Vehicle spawns are now divided into 3 sub-menus. This is a fix for people with smaller Screen Resolution (Below 1600x900)

Somehow I deleted the player part of the cheats (godmode and such)

Okay I really seem to screw up the file, hopefully its really fixed now!
great mods. love the explosion. but the new mission maps not work. its all blank black. pls help. and can this mod runs in Men of War? (not the AS but the first MOW. oh and yeah. there is no ammo for bazooka. only 1 shot. also some weird red helmet on MG and bazookas
first of all, you are using 1.81.1 update your game with 2.0.11 (or whatever it was) then with 2.05.13 then 05.14 and finnaly 05.15
The blank maps are GOTY maps, you need to get GOTY to play em
there is still lot of bugs also :( and crash :'(
the airborne infantry on USA campaign not spawn. and on the beginning of the missions, there is plenty of tank crews spawned by itself at the right mid side of maps. and yes you can control them. and pls. more tanks :) and let the infantry spawn on groups too. not only individual. other than that. its great mod. i will tell u mroe if there is another bugs. and may be somethings that can improve this mods :D
up date your game from 1.81.1 to 2.00.11 then to 2.05.13 then 2.05.14 and finnaly 2.05.15
Like Incarus said, you are running an old version of the game.
With the latest update, the mod will have almost no bugs. Even the waypoint bug should be fixed.
The crash bug, only happens when you activated the mod for the first time, IIRC.
Hi! I love your mod and it's great but, Is there a way to add more units and can I somehow add this to other maps such as user made maps?
It is possible to include the cheats mod in user made maps.
Current I am working on a web-based tutorial (in html/css) on how to do add more units, and how to include it in other missions!

I was wondering if there was anyway possible to have other community made maps to cheat on. I played around with the files adding maps to the cheatenable but I do not know how it works to well, is there anyway I can add more?

Restarted mission you were playing before you installed cheats? check. Then it should work.
Thank you so much! I got an error with the U.S flame thrower unit in the last version (possibly because I edited the files to much). Can't wait to set up proper defences with the artillery instead of tanks!
I also noticed that the cheats mod file is not separated into lines like the other versions. Is this just me or did you do this on purpose?
The flame thrower seems fine here. But I am running the latest version.
For the cheats file, yes I did this on purpose to make the file size smaller. The initial cheats.mi was 303kb, which is much for a mission on itself. I got it sized down at 240/241kb now.

It is all fine in the 4.1.0 version. All the coding is organized again and I have re-edited it to bring back my troops. Thank you for your helpfulness!

It would be amazing if planes would work. It would allow for some very cinematic combat.

Anyway, I tested it out and everything works fine so far. Artillery menu is a nice addition.
In future updates (if there are going to be any), I'd like to see more spawns, like elite infantry and some more tanks.
Also, I'd like to learn how to make cheats mod work with custom missions and how to add more spawns myself. I hope you'll release a tutorial for that.
Yes I worked non stop on this. I think it took me about 6 hours.

I really like this mod, cannot wait to check out the new version! I had this mod since it's release and it gets more awesome. Keep going and I'm thinking about teaching myself how to get custom missions to work with the mod.
I have a problem, I keep crashing when I acces the special unit, an error message saying Not SDL file appears and then it says it happend at point autosave 1?
What special unit ?
I think I worded it wrong, I have crashed 3 times since the update and it always happens when you finish the first line of enemy defenses and it tries to autosave and some guy would say "You have unlocked additional units" or something of the sort

I did a quick load up of the mission 'Carentan' on version 2.05.15, after completing the first line aand accessing tank access I get:

I think this has to do with something else.
Try and make a new profile. See if it happens then.
If still errors, disable cheatsmod and check again.
If it really happens while cheatsmod is active, we can investigate further. I believe this has nothing to do with cheatsmod so far

I was wondering, does the new version include the second Skirmish pack?
Well I have 2 skirsmish dlc's. I have included them since almost the making of cheatsmod. I suppose I started supporting this in 2.0 and higher, not sure. Still figuring a way to make it easier for people to make use of cheatsmod with Sirhinkels missions.
YEa I use Sirhinkels missions only because personally they are the best and that would be awesomeif I could use cheats mod with it
when i am trying to open a mission the game stops working

The mission stops loading somewhere in the middle.I pressed alt+ctrl+delete and it says 'not responding'.I have version 1.97.7
Try and update to the newest version. I think you are missing allot of files
"Exlude {mission} from 0.mi. so at the start of the file delete {mission and at the end of the file delete }
Now rename the 0.mi into mission (or whatever)
Copy an already existing cheat mod mission, copy that 0.mi
to the custom map folder.
copy side.mi (which basicly tells what units you can spawn)
to on folder above your custom mission.
Now if it does boot up and show you cheats (after mission restart) and spawned units are enemies: The mapper did a terrible job sticking to standards that Assault Squad is asking"
I tried something based on this but custum maps wouldnt load with changes, stuck at "parsing files"
Can you explain a bit better please? Like which 0.mi are you talking about? and/or what to do after deleting {mission} with that renamed to(whatever) file.
I understood where 0.mi and side.mi goes but anything else is a mystery atm :)

Made it work with a custom map.
Merged whole cheatmod into the custom mod excluding mod.info file.
Copied (include "../side.mi") text into 0.mi of custom mission. So file ended with:
(include "../side.mi")
}
Copied side.mi file from cheatmod(selected side.mi file among english campaign files cos I was to play with uk in the custom mission) custom map's 1-above folder.
Lastly copied a .lng file's content(same english deal as above) excluding {tags} text under cheatmod's localization folder(example: 01_eng-battleaxe.lng) and pasted/added it appropriately into custom maps appropriate file.
Not the best explanation but it worked :D
There would be more copy/pasting work with mods with multiple maps. This was a single map mod.

Well the newest cheats mod is somewhat easier
4.x.x will allow you to use only ONE include line.
in the /map/single/cheats there are ger/usa/uk/rus and jap.mi
You just make one include in your custom mission, pointing it at what country you like. The country mi file has cheats mod included. That should take it more easy for you.
For the LNG files, you dont really need them if you want cheats to work. They only serve the activation text you see if you activate one of the 3 cheats (also Country switching)

I tried it but the game always crashes when it starts loading that map.
So I copied jap.mi from cheat mod to my custom map's 1 above folder (cause I play with the japs in that map), added the include into the mission's 0.mi file and I get this error:

Actually, I got it working. I just merged cheatmod with my custom mission, copied my country's side.mi into the custom mission's one above folder, and added this line before the last "}" in the mission's 0.mi file: (include "/map/single/cheatsmod/jap.mi")
I finally got it working. Now I know how to use your mod with custom missions. WhiteSnoop, you're the best! :)
Well it's much easier now after this information, thanks :) I just copied ger.mi and cheat.mi 1-above folder of custom mission(playing as germany) and added (include "../ger.mi") to custom mission's 0.mi file and it worked :)
Tho all visuals,texts are not there but I still can use cheats/spawns since I know some of their locations in the side menu. Which file contains visuals/texts?

The visuals are new in 4.x.
When you activate godmode, a text message pops up just like the hint system. It will say:
CheatsMod:
Godmode Activated: Inf health bla bla.
The first release had godmode, when it was activated it overlayed a green screen. A red when it deactivated.
Other released had a voice that said what happend: "Godmode Enabled"
I didn't really like a voice after I heard it too much.
I decided to use the hint system thingie.
The down part of this is that I have to enable it for every mission.
But after all, you don't really need the confirming messages. Its really more for new users who don't exactly read readme's. If you are familiar with the cheats, you know what you get. So you don't really need confirmation texts

i'm confused where should i put ger.mi and cheat.mi files,
also i copied whole "resource" folder content from CheatsMod to Dnieper_river\resource\... and added to Dnieper_river\ resource\ map\ single\ Dnieper_river\ Dnieper_river.mi (include "../ger.mi") before last }, but game crashed when parsing files.

To my knowlegde you have to activate both mods. (cheats and dnieper)
Then you just add one simple include line to map/single/dnieper_river/dnieper_river/0.mi
before the last } you just include ger.mi. Link it to map/single/cheatsmod/ger.mi (as there is the ger.mi located)
../ger.mi just stands for: go up another level (in this case from /dnieper1/dnieper2 to /dnieper1 and find the ger.mi file there.
As I said before, you can just do one include line
(include "/map/single/cheatsmod/ger.mi") into your custom 0.mi file!
ok so I downloaded it and tried to play didn't work then I moved the downloaded file into the mods folder and it didn't work what do I need to do????
You have to extract the downloaded file
Copy the extracted folder to mods.
Then you have to activate it ingame.
Hey does this work for retail?
If you apply the latest patch: YES!
If you are running an old unpatched retail: NO!
I say this is for steam just because steam keeps his games up-to-date. Allot of people don't think about patches. I mean for assault squad, the patches bring you HD tanks and such!
