SUMMARY :

Fully scripted mission on a map I've been Researching, Designing and Making for some time know finally overhauled and get to release it for everyone.

I've researched the Defence layouts covering the beach for WN70, WN71 and WN72 and have them pretty well designed into my map closest you'll find in the workshop for any Men Of War Games thanks to the website linked above.

Based on Omaha Beach and covers three sectors Charlie, Dog White and Dog Green which saw some of the fiercest resistance from the German Defenders. Omaha Beach is an Iconic part of World War II and anyone that know's anything about D-Day Omaha Beach is sure to cross there mind first!

DESCRIPTION :

Map is big but not massive extends twice as you progress. Has three strong points WN70, WN71 and WN72 all have there respective number of weapons and equipment except WN70 should have 2 5 cm mortars but they only have 110 m range in game so resorted to one 8 cm mortar as the 5 cm cant reach the beach. Total of 11 flag capture points, 8 Objectives, Player Reinforcements, Enemy Reinforcements, Custom Bunkers made with the Gem Editor resources just added to the in game bunkers make them look like the real life bunkers and Scripting with small bit of camera work as can be annoying when your in the middle of fighting and then get dragged away. Surprising how effective the real life layouts are in this game with not much been able to target the beach but just so much cross fire.

DEFENDERS EQUIPMENT (BEACH DEFENCE ONLY) :

Mortars = 5
Machine Guns Total (Not all can target the beach its self ) = 25
Anti-Tank Guns (cal 88mm 75mm and 50mm) = 4
Auto Cannon = 1
Infantry? = 100+

PLAYER EQUIPMENT (BEACH INVASION ONLY) :

LCVP's = 17 (2 Wave's of 17 7-8 mins loop time)
Tanks = 4 (2 When you get Units past the Sea wall) & (2 When you clear parts of WN72)
Infantry = 340 - 350 each wave is that necessary (YES) Total around 680 - 700

BEACH HEAD Enemy :

German Units are dug in in multiple locations spread out have a few Anti-Tank Guns be careful they have range and will shoot on sight ;)

Enemy starts to send reinforcements in waves only after you capture the flag at the cross roads just off the beach be Flag 5. But those reinforcements get stronger after you start to capture Flag 6 and 7 Strongest tank they have is Panthers and Tigers but only they spawn once knock them out they have no more Stugs, Panzer III Puma 50MM and Panzer IV are what will spawn always at different times with Infantry Squads maybe 2 3 squads at a time will advance and recapture flags so be a where.

BEACH HEAD Player :

After you capture the manor it will open up the only road leading off the beach on this section of beach was only D1 Exit for vehicles. Infantry have a good few exits climbing the bluffs etc. Only then can you drive inland when you secure the Manor but mines are present so be careful with Armour only get so much but do have a special unit available for mines. You can view the units you can bring in later just cant spawn any until you've captured the Strong Points Menu list is. Once you capture Flag 4 at the Manor take that time to set up defence as once you capture Flag 5 German reinforcements start to spawn in.

Edited all player infantry load out's so wont run out of ammo on the beach and have smoke grenades and grenades.


Infantry = YES!
Support = YES!
Armour = YES!
Tank Destroyer = YES!
Special Equipment = YES!
Artillery = NO! (But M4A3_105mm Sherman can fire indirectly but only get 2 no more and have access to Mortars not many tho

WHAT YO EXPECT :

Expect to have high death toll from the first wave was in real life second wave will fair better as you will have taking out some emplacements before they start to arrive which is about 7 mins later. Cover is limited Sea wall gives best protection from MGS but Mortars will zero in on you.
Alot of micro managing once the wire is breached Infantry have way points up to the wire after that its up to you to manage there movements.

WHAT TO DO:

Send multiple units at the same time to get to the sea wall
When units get to the sea wall make them prone always if they get spotted mortar rounds will land 5 10 secs later.
Focus on one Strong point at a time WN70 and WN71 Strong Points first decide which one you want to attack first? then lastly WN71.
Breaching the Sea Wall at the left side of map and in the middle will give you access to 2 Shermans get them as soon as possible will help clear some MG Positions but be aware of the 4 Anti Tank guns they are place in there orginal locations and all cover parts of beach so don't put Shermans on free move mode they will get knocked out

WHAT NOT TO DO :

Don't Attack everywhere at once (Expect to lose 300 400 men before you finally clear the Strong Points)
Don't keep infantry in the same spot for to long. (Mortars will zero in on you)
Just cause there is only 5 Mortars placed at certain positions don't underestimate them they where place in these positions in real life they can target every part of the beach area.
Once you capture Flag 4 at the Manor take that time to set up defence as once you capture Flag 5 German reinforcements start to spawn in.

Don't thing anyone can get off the beach on heroic setting but could be wrong

This mission is hard specially the start on the beach but was in real life expect the first wave to get hit hard. Its not defended by many German troops and not many can firer onto the beach its self you out number them about 5-1 but don't let that fool you you'll lose about 3-1 to 4-1 number of troops.
No enemy reinforcements come until after you Capture Flag 5 at the cross roads just off the D1 Exit!
