Description

You play as Steve, the wizards apprentice. You have been imbued with abilities and super strength; not bad for a once, rusty pile of armour! You must battle your way through the varying levels, collecting the broken shards of what we once called home. Along the way, you will encounter enemies from other dimensions, that are interested in one thing and one thing only.....to destroy what's left of the world.

History

The game originally started as a first person puzzle platformer, whereas you were required to collect gems and use portals and a grapple hook to traverse the levels. I change game engine and focused on the gameplay, which lead me to change the genre of game completely and I was forced to create a player character, which is where Steve came in.

The game was originally called, 'Steve'. However, that doesn't really seem original, wouldn't work too well for google searches and seems a bit lacklustre. So, 'Medieval' was added as a prefix, only because, Steve looked like he was from that era an dit kind of rhymes with Steve.

The game was also originally using photo-realistic PBR materials; although it looked nice, I didn't feel like it was the correct fit for the comedic narration. So, I changed the aesthetic to a more, low-poly, cartoon feel.

Features

  • Plays like the classics
