This is fan made remake of first part of the game Little Big Adventure. Probably only the first island.
I never was good at sharing updates about this project. Mostly because I never knew what I should write about. This time was no different, well maybe even worse than normal. On the other hand, there was reason behind it:
More than 2 years ago in meantime of playing, I decided that I'm dissatisfied with the look of the project and decided to restart it. This may not sound like a smart decision to do after spending 7 years on producing previous content but I decided to anyway do it.
I threw away old content and started working on something new. This time I didn't want to limit myself with original design and decided to do what I want with it. This resulted in some crazy ideas that these days toned down a resulted in this:
Now that I think about this, producing this video was a crazy ride full of coding, modeling, texturing and editing video. And all of that was done in the past two years. I know that is hard to believe but:
and in better shape than ever. As you may suspect this is not the end of the story. In the next months, I will be working on adding more gameplay elements, more content, improving the technology behind the game and trying to share more regularly. Of course, I know that I write all these few times before. But look at this video once again and think: Will I really want to throw away all this work?
So be tuned because more content is coming your way.
Till the next time fellow Twinsunian.
After hundred of changes and fixes I can finally present you Little Big Adventure: Tech Demo 2.
This time Alejandro took charge of new post and prepared for you some insight into his designing process.
After two years we publish new preview video showing current state of project.
Last post was for some probably like returning from dead. But project is still far away from zombie project and with each week it gaining momentum.
Patch for this who downloaded TechDemo2 and had some problems with running game and prefers download this small patch over whole package again.
Tech Demo 2 : 4F Second release of Little Big Adventure Tech demo. This time it's bigger and packed with more stuff. Patched 1.01: Nvidia cards errors...
Please don't make a 1:1 remake. There are places where the original compromised due to technical limitations. Those should be addressed.
It won't be 1:1 remake. It will contain improved levels with changed layout. I will also make them "open world" in LBA2 style (you can walk around whole island). Story will also get some "tuning" and became more modern with filled up few gaps that were present in original game.
You have a list of what these limitations were? Or a link to where they go through them?
Love the game but haven't really thought of what things they had to compromise about.
I also would be interested into this list :D
GOODJOB
Thanks :)
Eng: Project was "restarted" at some point because we change a little bit more now than just porting old graphics to full 3D. About percent of progress it's hard to estimating but we move forward.
Ok, dzięki za odpowiedź. Powodzenia :D.
This would be amazing! Such a fan of the original game.
We are into that:] Like you see there is progress.
Hello,
You seem to be pretty far with what you got till there.
Maby making it your main goal, to finish this piece of work would be an option. Have you thought about using Kickstarter, or Steam Greenlight to make a commercial product out of it? I do not know the legal situation about that, but I think EA sold the title...
Anyway, good work and keep up!
The community appreciates any effort to keep the legendary LBA title alive! Exactly next year, LBA relentless reaches the age of 20 years!!
Yours, a Fan
Hi,
I will try not to dissapoint you with final result. Right now work slowed down a little because I moved and still waiting for my hardware. But even without it project slowly step by step move forward.
The rights have the original team and I have only permit from Frédérick Raynal to do part of the game. As I always say I respects they rights as the owner of licences and because of that I will not have any money gain from this project. That's why there will be no Kickstarter or Greenlight campaign.
Thanks for support,
Angelus
