"Every time I look up at the stars, I feel like I don't belong here. The distance between the stars looks tiny from earth, I can measure it with two fingers. See? But it's actually an incredibly huge distance. It's the same way for me with the people and the places here. They all seem so close, when in reality... they're all so far away... "

She was always saying things like that. Talking about how she didn't belong... about the stars. I knew it was a joke, for the most part, but at the same time I knew how serious she was. When I met her, I think I must have felt the same way.

"Lights" is a story about love, depression, and inevitability. You play as Troy, a young man suffering from bipolar disorder who takes a turn for the worse when his fiancee unexpectedly commits suicide. His night terrors become increasingly more frightening and complex, until one night he is tossed into the most soul-revealing nightmare he's ever experienced...

This is a first person horror puzzle experience with an emphasis on story and creating an engrossing, creepy atmosphere. Eventually, you'll come to realize that the darkest dungeons aren't found in the wilderness. In fact, they're much closer than you may have imagined...

I will provide a short explanation of everything here, but I would like to point everyone over to this video as well: Youtu.be

The video is my main update, but here's a summary or what's said:

-The project is NOT cancelled.
-The project is being put on hold while I get back into a full time job and find a more stable spot in my life to where I can devote more time to this game.
-The gameplay mechanics and story are staying the same, only the length of the game and number of puzzles is being greatly reduced (from what was looking to be a 5 hour game down to 30 min-1 hour).
-Updates will be scarce for a while, so anyone who was following for the game project should be aware of this!
-Thank you everyone who has shown interest. This is definitely a disappointing but necessary decision for me to make, but I promised to finish this and I will!

Basically, unlike my first game project, "Lights" is not being cancelled by any means. But as I don't have the time or resources to devote to the project at the moment, I am putting it on hold. A big inspiration for the completion of this game was watching Markiplier play "One Last Night" and being appalled at how incomplete the final product was. I absolutely don't want to release something like that to the public, and so this decision is mainly so that I can ensure I give "Lights" my full attention and don't rush it (since there's no reason for an indie developer to do that anyway!)

I greatly appreciate everyone understanding. For those following, yes it may be a while before the next update. Thank you! :)

That music playing in the game trailer is beautiful! Could you tell me the song's name please? It sounds a lot like Greensleeves.

I understand that this project has been placed on hold for a little while but I am very excited for when you get to work on the game again. If you ever need a beta tester, I volunteer my services. The game looks amazing!

Looks really interesting and Creepy; Reminds me of dungeon Nightmares without the dungeon part.

When this comes out I'll defiantly play it for my youtube channel!
