In a planet torn by a cataclysmic phenomenon of ages past, you take the role of a spiritual wayfarer akin to nature, as your path becomes entwined with the fate of the world by a mysterious curse which extinguishes life on whoever carries its bewildering mark.
Accursed and forsaken, you’ll begin a journey to save yourself, as this world divided between light and shade depends upon your own fate; what outcome will follow, that’s for you to find out in Khromagick.
Hi everyone in the Indie DB community! We have finally concluded the final prototype of the game!
It has been a very long journey for all of us inside the team. Development was suspended for a long period of time, while we were testing some mechanics, refining the UI, etc. Moreover, since everyone on the team got their own duties and other responsabilities, it was very difficult to get the time and finish it. But here we are, after so many years. Now we don't know what's going to be the fate of the game, the idea. We will probably gravitate towards a more simple sidescroller game, or take inspiration on the world we have created to make a spin-off. But we don't know yet. Other plans might just create an outstading campaign on Kickstarter (now that we have a full demo) and try to the team back. We this will take a more serious decision, because if it's successfull, some of us will need to shift focus on the game 100%. This means to quit the job and follow the passion. In the meantime, here we present the demo of what could have been the game.
The game supports both the Keyboard/Mouse and Gamepad inputs. We strongly recommend to use the gamepad as it renders the experience smoother and better to play with.
These screens are display in the Main Menu, when pressing the Controls button.
We have reworked the entire UI system to match the 1080p resolution and refining the visual elements. The HUD was simplified while keeping the basic elements on the screen.
The dialog UI was also modified to display a more appropriate visual coherence with the game.
During the game, players can see the progress by entering the Quest Menu.
In the Inventory Screen, there's the collection of the collected magick spells. For the whole game we have designed 16 in total. But for the sake of simplicity, on the demo we have implemented only two of them: the Hawk Claws and Mind Shield. The first one being a Light Spell, and the second one a Shadow Spell.
The second screen displays the current quest progress.
The last screen displays the full world map. The idea was to conceal the part of the map, and add other details (names, locations, etc.). But for time contrainsts we just decided to reveal the full map, maybe we'll decide at some point to make it interactable and display the actual location of the player. But also show the the Mawan part, that's coverred in shodows (or the the dark side of the planet).
At any time during the game, the pause menu is accessed by pressing the Pause button.
While playing, you may find the Great Totem where players can interact with to recharge vital energy and talk to the Gods.
Make sure to finish the first quest to ensure that Takek/Malek will have a chance to speak to them.
Other minor details in the game include some SFX and other minor VFX when players interact with the lake pools.
