A free-roaming squad based RPG. Focusing on open-ended gameplay features rather than a linear story. Be a trader, a thief, a rebel, a mercenary, a business owner, a doctor, a bandit... the list goes on. Aid or oppose the various factions in the world while striving for the strength and wealth necessary to simply survive in the harsh desert. Purchase and upgrade your own buildings to use as safe fortified havens when things go bad, or use them to start up a business. Train your men up from puny victims to master warriors. Carry your wounded squad mates to safety and get them all home alive.

It's always cool seeing concept work, and these are great ideas. I would say which one I like the most, but alas, I cannot pick.

Kudos to the concept artist!

Little bit too much for me, not sure if it's going to fit the atmosphere.
But I do like the unique idea.

I think some should be in SOME biomes only. also in the sandy places sparse... maybe even down right rare to see^^ that would be cool.

Been following Kenshi for years glad to finally start to see a bit of the animals he has had in mind.

Wow. This is just...AMAZING. Never thought Kenshi would get concepts like this. I really, really hope creatures like this make it into the game. Reminds me of Spore creatures. lol

Careful with the big ones, you don't want too much spectacle creep, it'll dilute the wonder of seeing some of those giant creatures.

First of all, this was my reaction: I0.kym-cdn.com

Secondly; When these animals be implemented in a future update, and how will we be able to kill them? How much of a threat will they be to us as human(oid)s?

Don't forget, there's also a "race" selection bar, so I hope we get to see an update on that soon as well!

Bit to much fantasy in my taste guys, cmon we wouldn't wana ruin the level of realism you guys have worked so hard on to achieve. Alien space rock creatures might be a little problem to the rest of us realism freaks aswel! Still, it's good to see you're atleast working on some wildlife ideas! :)

I don't see much realism in this entire scenario.

Chris did say that the game doesn't even play out on earth for all we know. So seeing different creatures doesn't seem that strange, especially when Chris has always intended to add an alien robot race to the game...

Because having powered harpoon guns, but nothing so much as a bow and arrow is so realistic? :P

Note that the game is not done developing yet, and they are still gona implement handheld ranged weapons like bows and stuff. Check your facts.

Electrically powered crossbows are still questionable even accounting for bows.

As for the lack of realism in these creatures, it's mainly a matter of how they fit into the new biomes. Having been playing in a desert for so long we're all used to thinking about how these creatures could come about in that environment, and the majority really couldn't. Lacking much information about the new map, it's perfectly reasonable to be skeptical of dinosaurs in a world with ninjas, samurai, and knights in shiny armor.

so i believe this update will be beyond mind blowing to see creatures in it ive been following kenshi for a couple of months now and it has already reached number one on my list. the only problem i can really see with these animals is

1. the lack of realism
and
2. the way they fit in with the environment

once the game gets more biomes it will be awesomep.s when will the game get a hunger and thirst system

Love all of the designs and can definitely imagine killing them all, but my only concern is that the map won't be big enough. I know the map is meant to get bigger, but for all of these creatures to be there along with the humans, isn't it going to get a bit busy? other than that EPIC!

I would describe this genre of animals as "Space Africa" they look foreign enough to appear alien but similar enough to real animals to seem plausible and i like it.

OMG is that the sand whale I see?!

Maybe now people will finally stop assuming this takes place on post nuclear apocalypse earth... naw, probably not. I suppose I shouldn't blame them. It's not like Chris talks much about the game lore.
