JollyGrim is a free-to-play on-line collectible card game that takes ideas from genres such as real-time strategy and tactical role-playing games. We want to build an environment that encourages players to outwit each other. Unlike many other card games, the combat in JollyGrim takes place completely in real-time. This allows players to remain engaged in the action without the need to wait for your opponent to take their turn. Another aspect that makes JollyGrim unique is the lack of any random factors which may affect your success in battle. Rather than relying on luck being in your favor, your victory is determined by your strategy and quick-thinking. The game is focused on player-versus-player (PvP) matches as of right now, but there are many more versus, cooperative, and single player modes planned for future release.

This is just a quick update to let anybody who may happen upon this know that we've updated the game to add the chat functionality. The new installer also includes an updated launcher which should run a lot smoother than the previous version. You do not have to re-download the entire installer, but it is highly recommended. Also, IndieDB may still be verifying the download when you read this, but you can also grab it from our website (Jollygrim.com).
As of now, the chat is very limited. There is only one open room that everyone online is in. We plan to (hopefully) have a more developed system setup by the time we actually have more people playing the game. To access the chat window just click the little face in the lower-left corner of the game at anytime (except during a loading screen).
Also (a little off-topic), our Kickstarter project is still going. This is a great way to nab some limited edition JollyGrim prizes (like the soundtrack and even physical copies of the cards!) and also help us out. It's looking a bit grim right now (as opposed to jolly!), but who knows what the future holds?!? Just click the image or title in the widget below to go to the Kickstarter page (which should show up.
