Top-down alien survival shooter. Inspired by old arcade shooters, Instincts aims to put players in a dynamic world full of player creations and quick arcade shooter style combat. Craft new weapons or build defenses to survive longer. Defeat difficult enemies to get rare materials to be survive ruthless players and enemies alike, just don’t forget to eat.

New enemy "Telekinetic Corpse" announced in this new dev blog.

Over the last week we have worked on developing the enemies, one called the Telekinetic Corpse is the latest. It is made from the corpses of players, upon adding this enemy we have also added the ability to burn player corpses to stop this enemy from being spawned. The Telekinetic Corpse can use a telekinetic push ability and is also around 5 times stronger than a player. The goal is to make an enemy that is unfairly strong but preventable. So if you attack an alien strong hold and die it’s going to be harder the next time you go there.The concept is done, there is still work to be done getting the new abilities into the AI combat system. After that it’s time to draw and animate, then we can record some video for you all to see.
Other than working on the new enemy we have been working on stabilizing multiplayer further and doing an AI rewrite for the way AI use abilities to attack. The old way we had working was that AI could either have a ranged or melee attack and this was more or less a place holder anyway, with the new system we are developing we can add a lot more variety to what the enemies can do and this will help us make animating the abilities much easier also.
