HUMANKIND is an innovative 4X strategy game where each stage of cultural progression gives you the option to “switch” to another society from humanity’s past. The consequences of your decision play out in real time, creating melting pots of cultures that might feature Roman architecture alongside British customs, for example. To celebrate the launch, AMPLITUDE are organising a competition featuring the built-in map editor to create your own map and win a variety of awesome prizes!
How to enter
To enter, players will create their own map in the built-in map editor, and submit it to HUMANKIND’s mod.io page. You’ll have until Monday 6th September at 4pm CEST to finalise your submission, and it’ll then be judged by a jury of AMPLITUDE employees. Winners’ll get their due on September 16th, during a stream. This competition comes in advance of mod.io integration which, whilst planned for the near future, is not yet implemented. The competition will thus also help build up the catalogue of UGC ahead of mod.io being fully integrated in-game.
Prizes!
The main prize for the competition will be a custom-built PC with a brilliant suite of components, but a variety of other goodies are up for grabs for everything up to 10th place. The full list of prizes can be seen below:

Closing Thoughts
It’s always a great initiative for developers to reward and encourage UGC, and this is an awesome opportunity to start getting acclimatised to HUMANKIND’s modding tools. Further content creation, like new assets and even new cultures, are planned to be rolled out in the future, and meanwhile, mod.io integration is right around the corner. There’s a bright future for UGC in HUMANKIND ahead for sure. Whilst it won’t be entered in the competition, you can also submit your own creations for HUMANKIND on ModDB here.
