While you were battling the evil forces of D'Sparil, the other Serpent Riders were busy sowing the seeds of destruction in other dimensions. One such dimension is the decaying world where Hexen takes place. A world littered with the mangled corpses of nonbelievers and inhabited by the undead followers that executed them. Only three humans &endash; a warrior, a mage and a cleric &endash; have escaped the leaders' vicious spell. Now these brave souls have sworn to crush the evil regime that threatens to destroy the world forever. Separated upon entering the mystical portal, the three are forced to attempt on their own what they had hoped to do together: find Korax's stronghold, destroy him and restore order in the physical world.

Release article with new features explanation:
Moddb.com

NOTE: If you have used a version of DML 2.X before and you want to keep your presets and configuration, just copy all the contents of %AppData%\Roaming\P36_Software\DMLv2 inside the CONFIG folder next to DML v2.2.exe.

My message on the feature explanation page to naryanrobinson's question how DML compares to other launchers like ZDL:

For me as a modder, or someone who likes trying new mods and new versions ZDL (or any other launcher) is not very usefull, as once you updated your files the presets are not usable anymore and it gets you in a lot of trouble deleting the old paths and adding the new ones (eg. due to different filenames)
Doom Mod Loader scans your folders every time you start it and makes it very easy to find the new added version, or the new mod you want to try and even nodifies you if a file was removed (or just not working anymore due to renaming). You can even just move the whole installation to an external harddrive and enjoy your favourite doom mods and games on a different PC or laptop. It's also very easy to use.
What I do when trying new mods, I just copy the new file to FILE\PWAD within the my doom mod loader installation (you can even create new folder in there without destryoing its portability) and start up the launcher and type in a few letters of the mod and DML would instantly filter out all mods with those letters and let me add it to my current preset, to just save and run with one click (using the "update and play" button for example)

I know I will be using this for a very long time and doubt there will be something more useful any time soon ;) Thanks to Premo36 for making and sharing this!

(btw, I know ZDL also has a multiplayer feature, but it doesn't even remotely compare to zandronum/doomseeker, as there are no options to disable deathmatch weapons (it's a zandronum/doomseeker exclusive feature) Who honestly would like deathmatch weapons all over the place in cooperative gameplay. It was also very laggy when I tried it, but that might have to do with some not so multiplayer friendly addons.)

I dig this man! Way better than ZDL and really underrated.

It has quality of life stuff like custom presets (maybe ZDL had it but it's UI was really crap so i couldn't tell) and more.

Things i definitely think could be improved:

1. A way to easily edit/update presets from the "main window", WITHOUT going through the process of removing the preset you wanna update, listing the mod files all over again (imagine you recently found a addon for a specific mod you really like so you want to add that addon to a preset or maybe you forgot to check the "CONFIGURATION:" box when saving a preset (that's another neat thing about this loader, configuration files linked to presets)) and saving the new preset with the same name of the original preset you created...

2. I want to be able to group several mods into a single category (kind of like many skyrim mod loaders). Imagine how cool it would be to have a separate "group" or "category" for gameplay mods, maps, Addons, and more! One thing that always turned me off from ZDL was being greeted by a huge ****** wall of wads and having to find the right wad from the list.

Sorry if i didn't make much sense :/ i really want to see this improve and grow into something truly magnificent.

Hi! I'm glad you like it.

1-Presets are always editable without the need to delete and recreate them from scratch. If you have for example a preset with ten mods, and you want to add a new one, remove two old from the preset, and make it also keep saved the alternative configuration: import the new mod (trough the "file manager" or by placing it in the file/pwad folder), import and select the configuration (always trough the filemanager or by placing it in file/port_config),select the preset, click on the new mod (it will become highlighted), click on the two mods you want to remove from the presets (no longer highlighted) click on play, adjust the mod loading order to work (if needed), click on "save preset...", click on the checkbox with the alternative configuration and click on "update". The preset will be updated.

2- Thats a nice idea! But right now i'm focused on other project and no more update are planned for DML 2.X in the near future. The project it's open source so maybe someone else will implement this feature. I will add it to the github page as a suggested feature.

Thank you for your support and suggestions!

Yeah, i just wasn't familiar enough with the launcher at the time. Only a few hours after posting that i realized how simple updating presets really was.
