Gundam RTS is a free RTS game. It uses the Spring game engine and is currently in production. I make periodic releases and the game is very playable. It focuses on the one year war story which means no super mechs or effeminate boys. Just anime style humanoid robots shooting each other A LOT.

Post news Report RSS SeaGate can go suck a rubber hose.

So I was working on some slammin versions of the maps. Even getting really close to a final version of desert valley but SeaGate had other plans.

So like all versions of gundam, I revise the maps based on user feedback and games I have observed.

Problem is the guys at Seagate decided to be pants on head retarded. Building into their Baracuda line a little known bug that will cause it to SPONTANIOUSLY BRICK. That means that I cannot access the drive. There is a solution which requires me custom making a cable and using hyperterminal to shove some values in and resolve this. As you guys can guess, this is a dangerous process and one that will eat a whole evening of my time.

Time which could be spent finishing this:

yeah that's right.

So here I am in the middle of moving so I don't have time to go and dig up the cables and setup this elaborate setup because SeaGate made an error on an entire line of drives that they have been selling for 2 years now. So it may be a week before I have the time to hunt down the needed components rehearse the process and finally try and recover my data.

FEAR NOT

I develop gundam using an svn which is a good way to keep a backup of my project and map source files. All of which are still on my harddrive as well as I put the project directories on another drive all the same :). Just all the configuration(lighting) was lost and I want my files back darn it. So gundam is fine but is going to be slowed down thanks to SeaGate much to my rage.

This is a good example of backing up your files somewhere. ^_^

Also if you need a tester to poke around, I'll be happy to help out.

The main thing needed currently are modelers and regular friendly players. I would love to see you guys having lots of matches but it seems like most people don't make it to the server(10k downloads and maybe 12 people in lobby:( )

I see... If my wifi wasn't so... sporadic than I'd try an online match. I prefer getting my butt kicked by a person than the AI >.< well no one can say the AI is crappy, it knows what to do and takes any advantage it can.

I might be able to help as a modeler although I'm more used to doing it for Oblivion and fallout 3 & new vegas. I've never done it with this type of game... it's interesting ^_^

Well it is fairly low poly stuff but I would go over the model, optimize adjust and clean it up to make it fit the current style. So if you don't mind that and donating it to the project no strings attached I say go ahead. If you have a favorite UC unit, model it and send it to me in a format I can use, I will cleanup, implement and skin it.

:/ I haven't watched any gundam from the UC era in... over ten years. I think I'll have to rewatch the anime from around that time to actually decide.
Though I have a few already in mind from playing UCGO :3
Also what format(s) can you use?

I prefer obj but can deal with 3ds , solid closed geomitry is prefered. The only restriction is that I cannot use space only suits( dendrobium or alpha azeru for example) as this is terrestrial combat.
