Grief is a 2D, sidescrolling platform game in which you take the role of a small child whom recently lost its father in cancer due to a long time habit of smoking and is now going through the five stages of grief. The five stages are denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance, and every stage is represented in the game as a playable level. Through the use of not only graphics, music and a compelling story but also through the use of the games mechanics an emotional experience is created for the player.

Liked the game, the later levels felt better than the first. The timing of moving platforms and placement of checkpoints, for example.
Also, the first level gave me the impression that hazards would be clearly marked with colours which wasn't the case throughout.
A really strange bug occurred for me when restarting from the first checkpoint (just after entering the level) on the Bargaining (?) -level (windy). I managed to get launched into the air and keep myself airborne by jumping. I fell back to the ground 3/4 of the way to the second checkpoint.
Definitely worth more than €2 though. Well executed experience with tight controls and good gameplay.
