Godblitz is an experimental/indie MOBA currently under development. Our goal is to evolve the genre by focusing on fun and innovative gameplay. The world of Artha is devastated after centuries of war between city-states. The landscape is filled with gigantic ruins of forgotten empires. You are a channeler, a human with the special ability to use the powers of the many gods that look over Artha. As a channeler, you are one of the champions of your city, fighting with other channelers in an ancient sacred sport called Blitz.
Welcome to the first dev entry of Godblitz!
Being this our first post, we want to tell you a little bit about the plot and mechanics and LISTEN to what community has to say:
In essence, our main goal is to try to evolve the MOBA genre by focusing on fun and innovative gameplay.
Godblitz is set in the world of Artha, devastated after centuries of war between city-states. The landscape is filled with gigantic ruins of forgotten empires. You are a channeler, a human with the special ability to use the powers of the many gods that look over Artha. As a channeler, you are one of the champions of your city, fighting with other channelers in an ancient sacred sport called Blitz.
With this new universe as background players will face a bunch of new mechanics:
- Create your own hero: Instead of predefined champions, the player has an evolving character (Channeler) that uses the power of two gods on each match/battle. Many gods will be available as the channeler levels up.
- Define you battle style: Godblitz has a flexible ability system. Each god has 8 abilities and 1 passive. During the match, abilities can be changed and evolved allowing the player to decide what is required to win.
- Built-in clan system: We think Godblitz should be enjoyed with friends. Each player fights for a city, shared with other players. Gold, won by playing matches, can be invested in the city that will evolve to give its champion boosts and equipment.
- Hardcore map innovation: We are working to create maps that are really different from the DotA standard. We are trying out things like changing the environment, new winning conditions, physics, top-down shooter ideas, etc…
We have a prototype with the first map currently playable, art is being developed. We would love to listen to feedback from the community about our ideas, we will really listen to it.

It's going to be a dumb question, but do you know approx. when you will release the game, closed beta/ open beta/ pre-alpha or something like that? :)
We don't have ETA for the alpha but we will make a closed alpha with the most active users of the community to hear their feedback.

Awesome another moba, but this looks different from the other ones! People like original Moba's keep that work going, do you have any website of blog page?
Yes thats one of our objectives, we are trying to make Godblitz as different as possible from other moba in many fields like heroes, control, etc.
