Freeman: Star Edge is a vast open-world universe where you’ll have the freedom to wander the stars and explore exotic planets. As an exile to a far-flung star system, you must forge your own destiny: whether you mine, gather and build or campaign in faction wars to decide the fate of the star system is up to you. There are many distinct worlds to discover and inhabit in Star Edge, where there are opportunities to trade, recruit allies, take on missions, or wage battle across settlements, cities and the wilderness. Write your own story: play as a mercenary who executes dangerous missions for the highest bidder, a star commander and conqueror of worlds, a lone wolf that survives on stealth, guile and plunder, or a trader that prospers by peaceful means.
Core Features:
- Space and planetary exploration: Will you soar across the galaxy, scouring the skies for treasure and opportunity? Traverse the lands of different planets and locations? Take a stroll through the streets of futuristic cities? Perhaps slip into the ruins of a lost civilization beneath the surface of a frozen world? There are many vivid, Sci-Fi worlds to explore. Cities, settlements, caves, ice worlds, deserts and space stations, all await your discovery.
- Free-form, sandbox gameplay: Define your own success and set your own objectives in a living world. You are free to loot, gather, mine, and trade, gamble and grab a drink at the bar. Find your place in society by seeking out friends, contacts and companions and building relationships, or go it alone, infiltrating strongholds and using diversions and assassination to get what you want.
- Grand-scale Space Combat: You can lead a fleet of various ship classes and engage in epic combat in space. Achieve victory by boarding enemy capital ships, or winning dog fights and battle cruiser clashes. You can upgrade your armada with the spoils of war, choosing from laser weapons, missiles and torpedoes. Whether you hunt space pirates and loot their bases or wage a campaign against a powerful imperial navy, your victories will change the balance of power.
- Tactical Squad-baseed Ground Combat: Wade into glorious battle with your allies and mercenaries. You manage equipment, logistics, morale and training to maximize combat efficiency. Lay siege or skirmish in the open field to win combat objectives. You will also decide on tactics: take it slow and steady with camouflage and suppressed weapons or go full throttle with automatic weapons, sniper rifles and explosives.
- RPG Elements: Character physical features are customizable. As you play, you'll be able to master skills and trades, including stealing, gathering, mining, diplomacy, stealth, trading and many others. Your character will have ten equipment and quick-slots for armor, weapons, grenades and other items. How the world reacts to you depends on your reputation, standing with factions, and personal relationships with key NPCs.
- Settlements and Player Housing: Nature abhors a vacuum. Once you've razed or conquered a planet, you can settle your own forces in, generating income as you build out habitations, an economy and industries to match. The interior of your capital ship is also a customizable space that can be filled with crew and companions, and given life with decorations, trophies and furniture: a sanctuary amid the burning stars.
- A Dynamic World: Factions engage one another dynamically, warring and trading as time progresses. Dynamic events are driven by a faction and relationship system. Bandits will raid friendly settlements, resource wars will break out, making each day in Star Edge unique and giving you a chance to step in and decide the politics of the system.
- Modding: We will work closely with modders to create a modding friendly system and allow a lot of user generated contents.

Yes and no. Star Edge isn't being worked on anymore, but you can find the game's spiritual successor, Freeman: Guerrilla Warfare on Steam, and it is being worked on.

Refusing to provide details on why a UNITY game (of all things) that is so easily-moddable is being flagged as a Trojan?
Refusing to provide a privacy policy that covers how many Chinese IPs you send player data to?
Never trust a filthy Chinese/HongKong developer. Let them beg for money from their own people/govt instead of polluting KickStarter with their scamware!
Further research into their CEO has turned up information on black-market money laundering for the Triads, G2A, and Kingin along with some other crazy stuff.

First of all, the company is American, denton. Second, saying that Chinese/Hong Kong devs are filthy, thus accusing them of such an inhumane trait is wrong, racist and very rude. I would not be very surprised if your accusation next was that all Chinese and Hong Kong people are communists which I will correct you before you say it or even if you are thinking it, it is inhumane, and wrong. Nevertheless, that is called prejudicing an entire ethnic group when not all are responsible for such horrendous actions. You are probably even thinking of ethnic cleansing which is a crime against humanity. Hating on a particular loved ethnic group and under no exception is that ever tolerated. Further more, most Chinese/Hong Kong citizens are against the current Chinese government because they are under the tyrannical rule of it, after being deceived about it being a democratic republic. Thus, they suffering alot, therefore not making them filthy nor commies but the victims of an oppressive authoritarian communist dictatorship. Also not all Chinese residents nor Hong Kong residents are in league with criminal organizations such as the Triads. I am a Canadian Chinese male citizen myself and I am against commies, gangs and other criminals who threaten human kind; This goes for men, women, boys and girls. I also happen to love the USA, Canada, North America overall and democracy. I live in Canada where people of all ethnicities accept me and love me besides my family. I support Republicans and Conservatives and I don't like salty controlling Liberals who are racist and accuse Republicans/Conservatives of such things when they actually would fight for ethnic equality and plus other ideals that the liberals have failed in. Check yourself before you wreck yourself. The devs and mods did justice when they banned you. They gave you warnings and you didn't heed them.
To the devs here, thank you for defending the Asians, (Chinese and Hong Kong ppl) in particular. I understand this was 2 years ago, but still, I feel I must say this to show racism is not to be tolerated. (Btw racism was invented by a communist and communism has always been our enemy because of authoritarian communist dictatorships that start off as a democratic liberal government, but then slowly transforms into what we know as an oppressive government who doesn't care about free speech nor our human rights and individual freedoms.)You sound a whole lot like a totalitarian liberal communist, denton. Would you also like to show where you've scanned the game and what file is exactly being shown as a trojan? Myself and several others within the community have downloaded, played and enjoyed this game without any of our antivrius going off including Kaspersky, Norton etc.

Thank you for defending the Chinese/Hong Kong citizens residing in China and Hong Kong. What he did by demonizing all of them as filthy and possibly as commies is not only racist, it's possibly an attempt to get people to hate on them, leading towards ethnic cleansing which we all know is a crime against Humanity.(I am a Canadian Chinese citizen myself here, so I am just glad to see that some Europeans, and Americans are against racism and all about ethnic equality which is good.)
