Laperia is a powerful industrialized nation that has gathered enormous wealth by mining and purifying a volatile mineral found, initially, within their borders. Their economic influence and singular focus on becoming the world's supplier of Laperite (as they've deemed it) has allowed them to expand their operations into neighboring territories; all on the backs of forced labor. At the forefront of this effort is the absolute leader of Laperia - known only as The Executor. While somewhat reclusive, he maintains the respect of the masses through his incredible physicality, superior intellect, and commanding presence. The Laperian Imperial Army uses advanced technologies, centered around their ample Laperite supplies, to craft devastating weapons.
Laperia was founded by the three leaders of Tamaeris, Harkan, and Calauran in an effort to consolidate trading efforts and defend themselves against raiding parties that roamed the sub-glacial lands of Filae and Lauk to the West. This Royal Triumvirate ruled over Laperia for many years and facilitated the expansion of their interests both to the North into Ohrlus and, eventually, to the East over the Andress Mountains and into the Flatlands. It is in the Flatlands that Laperia found true, world altering, wealth. The land was easily manageable and the veins rich and deep. The ancient mountain fortress of Tamaer Hakan was expanded and partially converted into a dirigible port to service the numerous floating aircraft that shipped goods over the rocky terrain.
Not much is publicly known about The Executor. It is generally believed that he was born in the Flatlands and displaced, in some way, by the Laperian mining operations that took root there when he was a boy. He studied at the Royal Laperian Academy in Harkan where he excelled in all things academic and sports related. He was the captain of the Academy's Range Shooting team. His shooting partner was a slight, fiercely intelligent man named Henry Dranoff. Henry had trouble making friends because of his confrontational manner but The Executor took him under his wing. The two were involved in a tragic motorcycle accident which severely injured Henry. While no one could confirm whether or not he died from his injuries, he disappeared without a trace some months after the accident. The Executor went on to graduate with honors and eventually landed a position in the Triumvirate's cabinet.
His time as a cabinet member would prove to be short-lived.
As riots began to break out over the treatment of Ohrlundian citizens and followers of the Children of the Ancients, the lives of government officials were always in jeopardy. The Executor became frustrated and disillusioned with how the Triumvirate were handling such brazen insolence and chose to leave his post - but not for long. During a particularly explosive clash between protesters and the Laperian military The Executor carried out a violent coup, assassinating all three Triumvirate leaders. The next morning he declared himself the absolute leader of Laperia and vowed to bring peace back to the country that he loved.
