Jack Carver is cursing the day he ever came to this island. A week ago Valerie, a brash newspaper reporter, offered him an incredible sum of cash to sail her to this unspoiled paradise; but shortly after docking he was greeted by artillery fire from a mysterious militia group swarming over the island. A nearly perfect tribute to both oldschool shooters and innovative ones, with excellently cheesy story and great atmosphere. And it's really long by today's standards, with beautiful, semi-open levels and variety of enemies and weapons.
It just can prove frustrating at some parts, especially near the end (10 fatmans and 30 mercs with rocket launchers, wtf!?), but it's definitely an unforgetable adventure.
Totally one of the best games ever made, a masterpiece of golden years of gaming :)
