Jack Carver is cursing the day he ever came to this island. A week ago Valerie, a brash newspaper reporter, offered him an incredible sum of cash to sail her to this unspoiled paradise; but shortly after docking he was greeted by artillery fire from a mysterious militia group swarming over the island. With his boat destroyed, his money gone, and Valerie suddenly missing, Jack now finds himself facing an army of mercenaries amidst the wilds of the island with nothing but a gun and his wits to help him survive. And the further he pushes into the lush jungle canopy, the stranger things become...
Pretty fun, game had better graphics than the cutscenes XD
My most favourite game ever
One of my favorites Far Cry series!

While this game is punishingly difficult and at times, it feels as if the AI is using a wall-hack considering how easy it is for them to spot and shoot you, Far Cry is a breathe of fresh air for the modern-warfare age, opting out for lush non-linear jungles instead of dusty streets.
It's tough, violent and quite long, but it's pacing is fantastic and it's a thrilling adventure from start to finish. :)
Far Cry is a fun game. The Jungle combat is difficult and engaging, the AI challenging, and the environment spectacular. Jungle combat and stealth elements get 10/10. That's about all I liked about it.
The game is atrociously difficult, I will not lie. That is one good thing about it, but the fact that I HAD to use hacks just to finish the campaign is telling. I could not take it anymore. It is sadistic.
In terms of game-play, fighting in the jungles against humans was fun, fighting in labs and bunkers against mutants ("trijans") was not... I just did not enjoy it. Like Crysis was ruined by the Aliens, Far Cry was ruined by the mutants.
Otherwise the game is pretty fine. It is fun, but painfully difficult. It is good halfway through the story. The environment is excellent. Not much else to say. 7/10, fun but not uber great.
Masterpiece in every aspect...
This game is insanely difficult. There, I said it. It doesn't allow quick saves, and you have to find medkits to replenish health, and there are one or maybe two medkits in every level. It's insane. If you do play it, I recommend playing it on easy at least the first time through. If you can beat it even on easy, I'll be impressed.
About the story, what story? Oh wow, your on an island with a mad scientist, how unique. What about the characters? Was there any character development throughout the game? Nope. Gamers seem to think of story as "Why I'm shooting stuff." Well, it's not. Story is about characters, and the characters in Far Cry were shallow, to say the least, and their motives were cliched.
I'll admit I enjoy playing the first few levels of this game, but after that it gets insanely difficult. This game was worth the five bucks I payed, but only because it's got an awesome editor. And now that I have Crysis, well, that kinda made Far Cry obsolete.
Great graphics, gameplay is awesome, you must play this game!
