Jack Carver is cursing the day he ever came to this island. A week ago Valerie, a brash newspaper reporter, offered him an incredible sum of cash to sail her to this unspoiled paradise; but shortly after docking he was greeted by artillery fire from a mysterious militia group swarming over the island. With his boat destroyed, his money gone, and Valerie suddenly missing, Jack now finds himself facing an army of mercenaries amidst the wilds of the island with nothing but a gun and his wits to help him survive. This game is just perfection of its time. That was summer in May-June of 2004 year when I played this first time.
And that was insane feelings about it. Water and design are awesome for that time.
My favorite levels in this game are: training, steam, archive, cooler, swamp, river and carrier. This is a game of century 100%
Atmosphere is 10/10⭐ Because you can feel how gradually, from the initial level, it gracefully moves from heavenly friendly landscapes to more and more depressing and bewitching locations with super original own style.
First mission - paradise little island with camps and bases, the next one - very interesting carrier with great atmosphere where is a good music which is like a salt in a soup. And whole game was done in such way.
It's was incredible and awesome times of life when I met this game.
The ending of the game clearly hinted at a sequel....
Developers made this cult game the best game for me still. And I love CryTek for this. It was a genious idea for the cool game with such name, island thematics, genetic experiments and so on.....
Of course, in addition to praise, I would like to note the disadvantages of the game engine, but, to be objective, at that time, these disadvantages were not noticeable, as they are noticeable now, on modern hardware. But, minuses of the game and engine: unstable framerate, flaw in some systems, such as: sprites, reflections and buffering of render information, unfinished entity system, incorrect shadow render callback, static connection to many limits; in many places, updates were made hastily, which clog the engine’s memory; I won’t go into details - in general, there are such things which now can be fixed finally. Thanks to CryTek that they leaved ability to mod this game - They did everything as competently as possible.
Nothing else to say, just perfection of its time.

A nearly perfect tribute to both oldschool shooters and innovative ones, with excellently cheesy story and great atmosphere. And it's really long by today's standards, with beautiful, semi-open levels and variety of enemies and weapons.
It just can prove frustrating at some parts, especially near the end (10 fatmans and 30 mercs with rocket launchers, wtf!?), but it's definitely an unforgetable adventure.
Totally one of the best games ever made, a masterpiece of golden years of gaming :)

One of my favorites Far Cry series!
Far Cry is definitely a great game. I can say that its a real masterpiece of Crytek which has everything - the best ever seen graphics by that time, interesting and challenging gameplay, and of course its story. You feel yourself like in a tropical paradise which hides something terrible inside.
The game is quite long in compare with other FPS games, and it consists of 20 Single player levels and 8 multiplayer maps.
Finally I just want to add that the only thing I dislike is a game difficulty. IF you want to make player use medikits, then you have to provide game saving at any time.
My estimate game rating is 10/10.
I'd absolutely say that this game, despite the difficulty, is the root of what we play today.
The graphics are great, even by some of today's standards. The voice acting is fine, and a bit funny. The best thing is probably the flexibility of its engine, where you can attach a minigun to a raft, and then you connect it to a boat.
Even if it does have good graphics, it doesn't mean that it lags. Certainly not. The game won't even lag on an Intel X3100 (if you lower the settings).
But, regarding the difficulty... well, if you complain, then git gud! It's not hard, you're just not good enough.
And the music seems well-composed, along with the dynamic music engine. It reminds me of the music from turkish TV series. It feels dramatic.
Now, the modding aspect is great. E.g. you can easily make a messup mod, with every soldier having a rubber duck as a hat (with the hat already included with Far Cry). And you could easily name your mods: Fat Cry, Half-Cry, Cry Far, Farthest Cry, Fart-Cry, Far Laugh and MANY more...
If I never met that friend of mine, I'd never know about the best game which I ever played.
FarCry is completely the best game that I have ever Played, i played yet many other games than FarCry of course. But this game has a nice Sci Fi singleplayer.
And the multiplayer is a Bomb! The assault mode from FarCry is completely perfect, i have never played a soo good TeamWork gamemode ever before.
Other games provide mostly only DM or TDM, and some other modes.
But the mode of FarCry 1 is different from the other modes, I can't stop playing it, i play it now 4 years.
And I get so much inspiration, to start modding for that game, I made AddOns for the Multiplayer for give the game some, not really necessary, but nice items and improments.
For me this game has an 10! Its very easy to understand after a time, and you get really energy to play it every day. :-)
