Van Buren: A Fallout RPG Adventure is a remake of Interplay's canceled Fallout 3 by fans. You are the Prisoner in this - the biggest ever - Fallout game. We are using original design documents, developer interviews and forum posts as info sources. We're looking for contributors so feel free to contact us. The game will require preinstalled copies of Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics. WARNING: This page contains SPOILERS!
We recently had a vote for new power armours we have created for the game but our main goal was to design Vault Tec Power Armour and let our Facebook supporters, No Mutants Allowed, InXile, Beth, FoDev and RPG Codex Fallout fans decide which was most Vault Tec and also their Favourite armour. So here are the results of the vote.

In the light of the recent news that InXile trademarked Van Buren, I want to clarify that I didn't take the pause from Van Buren because of that, but...
I have an important announcement to make! You probably noticed our updates stopped. As I was the one making them, here's the reason...
We recently did 2 interviews! Check them out for new screenshots and information about the game!
Richard Tongol, a Fallout fan and a 3D modeler, donated his 3D model of the original vertibird to us. Now we need to animate it so the Prisoner can enjoy...
Really hope this gets to see the light of day! I can't tell you how badly I've wanted to play the real Fallout 3.
When this is released I will delete New Vegas from my PC and never look back!
But new vegas was made by the orignal team that worked on fallout 1 and 2.
How's the progress coming along? Can't wait for it!
I could help in writing the story. While do have that much experience with the series I could definately help in recreating a great Fallout game.
My steam name is Vlogical123 if u want to contact me.
Someone who doesn't know anything about fallout shouldn't be writing for a fallout game. Because the last time someone tried to write for a fallout game without any knowledge of the series, Bethesda's fallout 3 happened. They made so many mistakes, so many things that could have been easily avoidable if someone in their writing department actually played fallout 1 or 2.
Truth be told, Bethesda has a history of contradicting established lore either in an attempt to increase sales (cyrodiil's jungle environment and Asian cultural influences being completely ignored and retconed out, and the lack of consistency of skyrim's climate between games, etc), or were too lazy to look it up before they started writing the quests and dialog (certain aspects of nord culture are missing completely or were only lazily implemented, certain defining characteristics of the imperial city and other cyrodilic cities are gone and are never mentioned again, certain aspects of dunmer culture are never brought up despite the situation demanding it, the list goes on and on).
So I guess since Bethesda couldn't stay on track with the lore, I shouldn't be so pessimistic about some random guy writing for a fallout game since Bethesda is known for that. as a precaution someone whos planning on writing for a series they have never played, or played but don't remember much of it, should play the earlier games so they don't make stupid mistakes. If anything, Bethesda is a testament about how simple mistakes can be completely ignored by the writing team and the higher ups don't bother changing or removing them, which is why each writer needs to make sure they aren't making continuity errors by at least fact checking on Google or something before they submit it.
Hello, was just wandering if you guys need any help in a specific area. I know you were looking for mappers in October, I could do some writing if needed, and possibly even coding but I am not the most experienced at coding.
I would probably be best doing mapping due to the fact, if still true, prior experience of mapping not being needed. For coding and writing I don't know what you seek in either of the two, and not having prior experience in either for game or mod development. I just want to offer any help possible to make this a full reality.
I have a couple questions:
Is there an IRC channel for this mod? I'd be willing to set one up if people want it.
I might be interested in writing (MAYBE coding as well, but I have little prior experience) for this mod. Where would I talk with people about that? I'm curious as to what sort of writing it would entail, as well.
I am intensely interested in this mod and I wish the dev team luck. Thank you for making this a reality.
Hey, sorry for such a late reply -- we haven't really discussed an IRC channel, but we have a Facebook page where most of our news is posted: M.facebook.com
If you're interested in helping out, feel free to send me a message entailing the kind of writing you most like to do, and we can go from there!
Thanks for the reply anyway. I'll send you a message.
Jesus h. Christ, I can't wait until this gets released. Reading around the design documents has both ****** me off that the original didn't get released so close to its completion, and exited that I will eventually get to play it probably sometime in the next decade (lol jk, but srsly). Keep working on this hexer
Best regards, an old fallout fan
