Reverse engineering disease after disease and finally finding one that would target cancer cells. An altered version of the 1918 Spanish Flu was successfully tested on a group of volunteers with various stages of cancer. Within weeks, every one of the patients had a clean bill of health. The super bug worked, and the FDA approved it for immediate use.
By the time the first patient started showing symptoms, it was too late to recall the cure.
Almost overnight, entire cities shut down around the world.
It's now ten years later, the majority of the world is either dead or infected. Those who survived did so by either staying out of the cities or learning to survive in them. You are John Gunner...A solitary army vet bitten two days ago now in search for a cure....
