Investigate crime scenes, make deductions, search for clues and fight in discourse battles. Eva Reynes: Volume One is a dark, sadistic mystery game which gets increasingly difficult and forces you to use your own judgment. The game will NOT warn you if you go on the wrong path, miss clues, or make wrong deductions, which may eventually put you on a one way street to a bad ending. But if you're good, you might just reach the truth.

History

I worked on Eredia: The Diary of Heroes for over a year, a game with over a hundred sidequests, each unique in their own way and with their own backstories. While I had a lot of fun making the game as a whole, I especially had a lot of fun making investigation missions where players had to find clues, interrogate suspects, etc. The game received a lot of praise for the amount of versatility in these quests.

I realized I wanted to challenge myself by making a dedicated detective game with a darker theme than Eredia. I was inspired by titles like Sherlock Holmes, L.A Noire and even the Ace Attorney series, where players had to constantly use their minds to get the job done. Eva Reynes will have all that and more. With an Open Deduction system, the players will have to rely on their own judgment with little to no hand-holding. Mistakes are bound to happen and there will be consequences for choices and actions.
