Elroy And The Aliens is classic point & click adventure game, hand-drawn and animated in 2D. Full of sci-fi tropes, ancient secrets, conspiracies, talking robots, emotional drama, witty humor and... aliens!
Hello, folks!
So this is what our old-school animation process with modern tools looks like:
#1 Drawing Rough Keyframes:
Neck-breaking key poses for our hero’s animation.
#2 Drawing Rough Inbetweens:
Without them it’d be 1990 all over again. Timing and smoothness add to the fun!
#3 Drawing Clean Lines:
Cleaning up the illustrations making it all nice and tidy.
#4 Adding Color:
We like it colorful and shiny, ow yea!
#5 Shadowing:
Custom shadows make Elroy come to life even more.
The most important part of the whole thing –> #6 Love:
We always interlace the whole animation process with our pure and immaculate love for all the cartoons we have liked so much ever since we were pooping in a potty in front of the TV on a Saturday morning. :)
Check out our Website, Youtube channel, Twitter and Facebook for more Elroy content.
Thanks for your support!

Like the 3rd one too, the color blends perfect on there also it'll bit easier if you want to add other backgrounds scenes. I mean the differences won't change the consistency too much. I think it'll be weird if you add other color which far from orange-red-yellow scheme if you use other pictures (1,2,4)
That's just my opinion
thanks for the input! :)
If you ask me, the 3th screenshot is the best (the most cheerful, but with good separation of the main plane from the background).
Thanks, Irena. Good point. :)
