Drown- introduction!

News 2 comments

Welcome to Drown!

We are very excited to release some early info about the game. Drown is a underwater platformer that follows in the footsteps of great games like Super Metroid, giving the player an awesome exploratory experience aided by character upgrades. Drown focuses heavily on these aspects while also adding a challenging layer of difficulty with its survival elements.

We plan to have several minibosses, each at the end of every zone. You will need to utilize all your powerups and skill to defeat them. Exploring deeper and deeper into the world will carry with it a sense of stress and fear as the monsters and hazards get tougher and you have to be more careful about your air supply and suit integrity.

Currently, we have 11 zones planned for the world, with two of those zones already well into production. In the following screenshots you can see some of our early work on the Coral Zone and the Kelp Forest Zone.

Also in this media release we included an early sampling of our theme music by Monomer! he'll be providing all the sound effects and music tracks throughout Drown. If you like his work, definitely check out more of his chiptunes on his bandcamp site: Monomer.bandcamp.com

The game is planned to be cross platform- we already have it running on Xbox and PC and are working on a OSX port. You can play via a gamepad or by keyboard controls. Please feel free to ask us questions about the game and we'll do our best to answer them. We are really looking forward to making this an awesome retro gaming experience and we'll do our very best to keep you up to date!
