A massive demonic invasion has overwhelmed the Union Aerospace Corporation's Mars Research Facility, leaving only chaos and horror in its wake. As one of only a few survivors, you must fight your way to hell and back against a horde of evil monsters.
You are a marine sent to investigate a strange signal coming from a facility near the Deimos Lab complex. As you and your comrades arrive at the area, you are quickly ambushed by a unknown force. Your comrades drop like flies and you quickly run out of firepower, leaving you with just a pistol. You escape the attack only to find yourself alone and defenseless. You must escape and find a way to return back to headquarters and warn UAC about the invasion or die trying. You can carry upto 3 medkits in a sort of old school inventory system and theres new monsters to.
Escape from Deimos is a eight-map expansion mod for Doom3 and each map that I make will be released individually. Other features in the mod includes new monters, and a carry inventory system that allows the marine to carry additional medkits and other items.
-------------
Features:
-------------
This mod has three new controls for the inventory. You can set the keys though the main menu. Go to options>control>inventory. The inventory will be displayed on the lower right of the player's hud. You are only allowed to carry three items at a time. When picking up medkits, they are automatically stored if the player's health is equal or above 100%. Otherwise the player uses the medkit when he picks it up. Other items can be customized to be stored in the carry inventory. You can use the cursor to select what item is in the inventory slot.
Another feature is a improved monster reaction AI. Monsters will no longer attack its own kind if its rank is higher than the other. Instead monsters will attack its own kind if it gets hit by a monster, regardless of its rank. Monsters of the same type/class will not respond.
------------
Remark:
------------
This mod does not support Mac and Unix versions of Doom3. Please read "important.txt" for more information.

This is my first map that I've made for Doom3. I know, its a little crude, but I am still learning the full 3d editing curve here,
since I was so used to 2d editing like Doom and Strife. I've also made a couple of Quake 2 and Serious Sam maps, but they
weren't that all great. I've spent quite a while trying to perfect this map, and since I can't model or animate
I was pretty much restricted to making indoor areas. I hope you'll enjoy this map.

Waste products from Recycling Sector 2 are also transfered here for conversion into valuable materials such as fuel and plasma. After your battle though the T-Lab complex you made your way into the Refueling Station only to find out that once again you are not alone.
Additional Credits to : ID Software, Doomworld.com, Newdoom.com, Team Future, and Agent Spork. Also D3files for hosting my Doom 3 content and the Last Man Standing Coop team for their awsome work in bringing the classic Doom gameplay to Doom3.

Build Time : 5 Months
Known Bugs : They are all over the place....if you find one, let me know.
* Notes *
My second released map for Doom3. Its a little better than that I had in my previous map (no multible themes, bad ammo placement etc). This is the second chapter of the lone marine and his battle to escape UAC. While the other marine is making his way to the Delta Labs, you are making your way to the hangar where its your ticket to get out of the complex. I am constantly seeking improvment, if there are any tips or anything that you think would need improvment, please email me.
* Warning *
This map isn't for everyone. The theme of this map is non-stop killing and those who never played the oringinal Doom games may not feel right at home here. I've done everything I can to balance everything to make the gameplay enjoyable. Many beta testers have played this map and most of them never had any problems with the gameplay. Again there are some really huge fights in the end of this map and some may find it too difficult, even though there are plenty of items to keep the gameplay fair. I really suggest starting on the lowest difficulty setting when first playing this map.

* Construction *
Base : New from scratch

* How to launch *
You must install this map as a mod. There are too many modified files that will effect the oringinal Doom 3 maps. Move the 'Deimos' folder in your main doom3\ directory. Start up Doom3 and under mods choose Escape From Deimos. When the mod loads, select new game and choose your difficulty. Then you will be given a map selection screen. Choose Sigma Quadrant.
* Warning *
This map isn't for everyone. The theme of this map is non-stop killing and those who never played the oringinal Doom games may not feel right at home here. I've done everything I can to balance everything to make the gameplay enjoyable. Many beta testers have played this map and most of them never had any problems with the gameplay. I really suggest starting on the easy or medium difficulty setting when playing this map for the first time.
* Troubleshooting *
If you are having problems with the map selection menu, launch the map manually by bringing down the console by pressing alt+ctrl and ~ and set these command lines:
g_skill : values of 0 though 2 will set the difficulty skill. Please set it if you wish to play the map other than on medium skill.
To launch the map manually type map game/samuel/kaiser_3d3
* Using other previously released maps*
If you have downloaded kaiser_1d3 and kaiser_2d3, you can include them in this mod. Just move the pk4 files into the main deimos/ folder. Then you can select them in the map selection menu.
---------------------------------
I M P O R T A N T . T X T
---------------------------------
The mod Escape from Deimos isn't supported on Mac or Unix systems. However, the map itself can still be played without the mod.
Delete dsv6.pk4 since it contains the modified code. Start the map as normal.
Ignore some of the errors when you start the map.
The lack of the inventory system will have no effect on the gameplay it is just a feature.
For those who are interested in making it compatible, I've included the source code from the 1.3 sdk used to create some of the additional features like the inventory. You can find it under 'sources.zip' thats included in this file. If you don't see it, email me at svkaiser -AT- gmail -DOT- com
enjoy

I have just completed the first level, T-Lab Complex, and will report back on the other two soon as I complete them.
T-Lab Complex is awesome. Really good design and build, great progression, and it's a pretty big level. My only gripe with it is the scarce ammo pickups during the first segment, prior to entering the T-Lab rooms. There's quite a few zombies this early, as well as other enemies, and for the most part you're pretty much mostly using the Pistol in this segment, until ammo runs out. An available chainsaw in this area would have solved this issue. Otherwise this is an ace level design, definitely up there among the best custom maps I've played. This deserves a 10/10. If just T-Lab Complex is this good, I can imagine the other two are, as well.
I have 2004 Doom 3 v1.3.1 and used Absolute HD v1.6 with this level. I loaded the map through the console, rather than loading it as separate mod or from a batch file.

Most praiseworthy, excellent level design, true 'Doom 3' spirit. The inventory mechanics did not work but that does not really matter. It is a blast anyway.
