Let the Obsession begin. Again. This time, the entire forces of the netherworld have overrun Earth. To save her, you must descend into the stygian depths of Hell itself! Battle mightier, nastier, deadlier demons and monsters. Use more powerful weapons. Survive more mind-blowing explosions and more of the bloodiest, fiercest, most awesome blastfest ever! Play DOOM II solo, with two people over a modem, or with up to four players over a LAN (supporting IPX protocol). No matter which way you choose, get ready for adrenaline-pumping, action-packed excitement that's sure to give your heart a real workout.
FISTFUL is a total conversion which goes on to change what we know of Doom by stepping away from those high tech labs and fiery pits of hell, instead taking players on a journey to the old west across two maps, complete with new graphics and audio. A complete Western conversion, featuring a full western town high-street, enemy replacements and weapon replacements. Every effort has been made to make this the ultimate Western Wad - this is the UK's answer to Boothill! Let's hear from a happy customer...
This comment is probably a bit late but I still think it'll be relevant - looking through the WAD file with an editor reveals some quite funny things.
First of all - the sound DSBFG (The BFG9000's firing sound) has been replaced with a 2 second backwards speech. Having un-reversed the audio clip reveals an English accented voice (possibly Soultec or A-ware?) Saying "Okay I'm sh*t so I'm gonna have to chea-*cuts off*" - obviously due to the BFG being unavailable without cheating.
Another interesting thing I found is the Imp and the Revenant's action sounds - these sounds are the Saloon's ambience sounds and the Church's bell sounds respectively. This also explains why there's always one monster you can't find - they're hidden in the map just to make their action sounds!
In my opinion, this is one of the best wads ever made - it's a shame it's only short and nobody followed up with expanding the idea, such a shame.
the more y'know thanks for the cool detective work

What source port is compatible with "A fistful of DOOM" ?
Pretty much all of them.
A Fistful of Doom was made back in 1997 (Development starting back in late 1996, as far as I know), which was before really any major source ports existed. So, for all I know, you can play this in vanilla Doom.
It's a short mod but I really enjoyed it love the Client Eastwood movies gun and sound effects from The man with no name trilogy I wish to see more mods like this for games as I am a big fan of those movies.
In the 90s, i got a CD-Rom named "Doom 2 Magic" and there was a Western-themed-Mod, but not as a TC only with sounds. Doom 2 was after modding the same game but with one-liners and a train in the background. It was funny to play.
Yet, it's A Good Mods I really Enjoyed it. But the Levels is too short and You should expanded the maps into maybe Map12.
I enjoyed it. Although simple in some respects, it's almost a homage to the older shooter arcade games. It's addictive despite its simplicity. I found it grew on me, and I enjoyed the challenge of eyes open shoot fast. A few notes: the shot gun blast sounds like a rifle. The last secret I thought was the exit. But according to the stats it's not. And where's that last straggler hiding? Is he playing possum as the passed-out drunk in the saloon. Some spur jingling would be nice. The saloon doors good have a swing sound and maybe and the illusion of movement. One state open, one state their closed. Overall, Good TC mod. Thank you.
