It is a mod that removes all the highlighting/shimmer from pickups and drops aswell as it gets rid of blue shimmer and outline on mapobjects that player can interact with.
To me such things should be optional as they are ruining visual fidelity as well as immersion of DOOM2016 and games in general. Such highlighting shaders and effects also obscure the hard work of 2D and 3D artists, so if nothing else, it's for the art!
Also now the colorful objects don't ruin overall aesthetics of the levels.
DISCLAMER: I highly recommend to use compass, objective markers and interaction prompts as those'd gained true relevance.
Goes without saying that this mod also permanently removes glorykill highlights. So that game is clean from the very start xD
If you really know the game like the back of your hand, this mod is probably great in combination with HUD off or for taking pics in photomode.
Installation:
It is not simple to mod DOOM2016 you gonna need to download modlauncher software latest version is here:Github.com
Create "mods" flother in DOOM/ >Unpack the immersion_mod_1.1.zip in the newly created DOOM/mods/... > unpack Debug.zip contents in the same DOOM/... folther > run the DOOMModLoader.exe in order to run the mod > don't be alarmed when steam warns you about "+com_gameMode 1 +com_restarted 1 +devMode_enable 1" That's just program adding devmode in order to inject our little custom patch in to the game. Just press "OK" and enjoy =)
Steam asking if it's okay to launch a game with custom launch options only happens if it's attempted from outside Steam; If you add "+devMode_Enable 1" as a launch option and then launch Doom (2016) through Steam, Steam won't show a pop up about the launch options. Do this after the first launch from DOOMmodLauncher.exe to continue launchng DOOM normally from steam.
To BETHESDA AND id software: For the love of all that is holy, make this optional in the DOOM:ETERNAL!!!
Uninstallation:
It is also bit tricky, you need to remove the files from mods folther/remove the mods folther and then you need to run DOOMlauncher again, so that it unhooks the (now removed) files. After that it is safe to remove DOOMloader aswell.

Does this disable Achievements when used?
It requires the game to run in devmode and devmode does lock you out - not permanently, but you cannot play the game with this mod and have access to achievements and/or any onther online activity. But somehow arcade mod is still fine xD

You know I hope Modders find a way to play Doom 2016 with Mods like this and still be able to earn Achievements.
They did it for Fallout 4, so I hope they can do it again here.
Well fallout 4 modded blocks achievements- didn't after release, but did later and probably still does.
I know what you mean. We are talking about bethesda here. They want to either sell mods, or suppress modding. And so we modders are pushed to not very elegant solutions. Many mods are reliant on dev_mode 1. Devmode disables everything online, because they think that mods=cheats, like a buch of absolute idiots.
You have to make a choice then. Play what THEY want you to play and get chieves. OR play modded version and foget the endorphin trap they prepared for us =D
