The team is currently - due to copyright issues - moving away from the Digimon aspect of the game and will be using original monsters and concepts instead. It will still be DW1's spiritual successor, but without the digimon as to not upset copyright law. Check out our most recent posts for more info.

For anyone who missed Vray's recent update vid, here's the link: Indiedb.com

As mentioned in the video, the team is currently - due to copyright issues - moving away from the Digimon aspect of the game and will be using original monsters and concepts instead. It will still be DW1's spiritual successor, but without the digimon as to not upset copyright law.

The new project has been dubbed "Project Dark World" (an anagram of Digimon World: Project Ark with the 'igimon' part taken out), and will be similar in mechanics to Project Ark, though a different setting. The digital aspect will be replaced with a dark matter theme instead.

The dwprojectark.com site is down, but we'll have a site for the new project up in the near future. Any readers still interested in joining the team and contributing toward the game despite the changes, please let us know via PM.

Thanks for your understanding,
- The Project Ark Team

Shame this probably means starting from scratch with the 3d models but at least it's good to show off your work.

It is a shame but it also means we'll not have old and new models mixed up as we did previously. Things are looking promising despite the recent changes -- thank you for the support!

Well that's disappointing but, I hope the game turns out great, still excited to see how it turns out.
