[Edge online 2012] Followed by a trusty, treasure collecting companion chest, the player must make their way through the dungeons many randomly-generated rooms and levels. Armed with a sword and a ‘hand cannon’, all manner of nasty dungeon dwellers, bosses and traps will need to be defeated or traversed in order to emerge from the dungeon victorious! To aid them in their quest, the player may be lucky enough to encounter one or more upgrades, or new abilities, scattered throughout the dungeon. A randomly generated dungeon is created every playthrough. Discover the dungeons many secrets and multiple outcomes. Do you have what it takes to survive the dungeon?

I will keep updating this post to help troubleshoot problems and fix them as soon as possible.

The game won't start:

Please try one of the following:

  • Run game as administrator (right-click the DiehardDungeon.exe in the "Desura\Common\diehard-dungeon" folder and choose "run as administrator"

  • Install/repair both XNA 4.0 and .Net 4.0
  • Delete the "DiehardDungeon" folder located in "C:\Users\*yourname*\Documents\SavedGames"

  • If installing from Desura's client, delete the "Cache" folder located in the Desura installation directory, then re-download the game.
  • Re-install the game
  • Download and install the DRM Free EXE Installer standalone release.

The music isn't playing:

  • Diehard Dungeon requires Windows Media Player (WMP) for music playback. If it is disabled / removed, the music will not play. An alternative method of music playback is being explored.

If all else fails:

  • Look for an entry for Diehard Dungeon in Windows Event Viewer and paste the results into a new post.
