Mac and Windows multiplayer
LAN multiplayer (or virtual LAN like with Hamachi) and open battle.net works between Windows and Mac computers.
Diablo 2 Mac compatible mods
(D2 LOD versions 1.13 and 1.14)
Note: All mods on this list are also Windows compatible.
I went through 3 pages of Diablo 2 mods to test and see which ones work 100% on Mac. I probably missed some mods (but probably not a lot). I also think it's likely that I missed some mods that used to be fully compatible in earlier versions.
This is not like a top 10. It's a list of Diablo 2 Mac mods on moddb.
To remain fair and relatively unbiased, I've listed the mods in alphabetical order.
I've also tried to use neutral looking pictures, click on the links to make your own opinion.
I did not include joke mods or mods only compatible with D2 LOD 1.12 or earlier.
There's also a few mods I didn't include in this article due to lack of description, no english version, fishy unusual installation, and other reasons.
Installation notes:
- Don't bother with the other files if the installation instructions (down below) don't mention them. I have only selected mods that have either no Windows-only files or entirely optional ones
- Backup your "Diablo II Patch" or "Diablo II Patch (Carbon)" file before installing a mod if you want to be able to revert back to vanilla Diablo 2
- The Diablo 2 patch file on mac doesn't have ".mpq" at the end

rename "patch_d2.mpq" to "Diablo II Patch" using "get info (command+i), drag that file in your Diablo 2 folder.

First, Open "The Puppeteer" folder inside the "The_Puppeteer_-_Realm_Edition.8 folder".
