Patch 1.01: New Features

a) Quick action planner – Graphical display of waypoints and actions when plotting a quick action.
b) Sacred Mountain : Added sound effect for Hawkeye’s special war cry.
c) Moving actors with WSAD keys possible in tactical view.
d) Improved moving through doors in 3rd person view.
e) Various performance optimisations.
Patch 1.01: Changes and Bug Fixes

a) All save games created with the 1.01 version are not compatible to any previous game versions.
Save games created with 1.01 (Build 1.35) can not be loaded by version 1.00 (Build 1.13/1.24).
b) NPCs executing tasks and NPCs walking patrols now react immediately in all cases if stimulated by PC player's actions (audible, visible stimuli and smelling).
c) Players can now heal friendly NPCs in Canyon Mission 3: Protect the settlers (not possible in 1.00 after creating a Save Game).
d) Music should now restart always after loading a save game.
e) During Execution of Quick Actions, deleting the quick action will not make the game unstable.
f) PCs now should not walk through each other anymore.
g) Sniper screen is now restored after loading of a save game.
h) Identical Savegame Names in different missions now are stored with different Savegame Names. Overwriting
existing Savegames with similar names in other missions of same level not possible without confirmation any more.
i) A couple of sound files with additional fx / speeches were added.
j) Santa Fe by Night: Shooting the Sheriff now correctly toggles mission lost screen.
k) NPCs now carry Tequila in right positions.
l) Unconscious or dead PC lying on the ground do not vibrate any more.
m) NPCs leaning into a wall are now able to shoot PCs correctly.
n) Riding with a weapon should now allow shooting and turning correctly at the same time.
o) Players may now shoot even if not aiming for valid targets (NPCs).
p) Santa Fe By Day: View cone now appears for the civilian NPC behind the saloon.
q) NPCs should not bunch up as much in one place any more while chasing a PC around a corner.
r) Kate is not able to run any more while seducing in action view.
s) Makeup effect has no effect through walls anymore.
t) NPCs on horses can now be seduced.
u) After changing detail settings within option menu, particle effects from other missions in same level do not appear anymore.
v) If PCs dragging NPCs/PCs are shot, then dragged bodies fall to ground and do not hang in the air anymore.
w) Dismounting a horse not possible during movement of horse.
x) Dismounting too close to a wall is not possible anymore.
y) Programming a quick action, where a PC should run when spotting an NPC is now possible.
z) Animation glitch with NPC waking up is corrected.
aa) NPC blinded by Kate's powder do now fall to the ground when they are knocked out.
ab) NPC should not clip through walls anymore where they could be shot.
ac) Auto save points now should be located in more convenient positions.
ad) Fixed the option setting “PC Responses”. In some cases the Voices still could be heard when Option was switched off.
ae) In Santa Fe by day Mission 2 Kate is now able to pick up the Derringer weapon in the Sheriff’s Office.
af) In third person, Kate's powder now correctly spreads towards the target NPC.
ag) Fixed small bug were Hawkeye's arrow got stuck in the air after saving in Fort Mission 3.
ah) In Option Menu, a shortcut may now be applied to the noise tool indicating the PC player's noise range.
ai) In Eagle's Nest, Sam can not be shot by friendly fire even if in jail.
aj) 3rd person Context actions were harmonized amongst all PCs.
ak) NPCs should not be shooting through walls anymore.

Nvidia: On GeForce 4 graphic cards, NPC and or PC characters may appear very dark or black.

Please check ATI website for the latest Catalyst drivers (6.5. and higher - Catalyst 6.5 does fix many issues).

This game requires Microsoft's DirectX(tm)9 or later to run. To play the game, you must have DirectX(tm)9 or later compliant drivers for your hardware installed.

Known driver problems:
1. Issues on ATI-Cards especially with Catalyst 6.2 or 6.3. driver
- Particles may not work with Catalyst 6.2. or 6.3. drivers (e.g. shooting, walking, explosions, gas, waterfalls and smoke)
- Particles will cause a slowdown of 15-50% or more on all ATI graphics cards
- On Radeon X1800 Crossfire cards: flickering lines may appear during gameplay.
- On Radeon X850 Crossfire cards: flickering lines may appear during gameplay.
- On Radeon X850 XT cards: flickering lines may appear during gameplay.
The issues mentioned may be fixed by new ATI drivers released after March 2006.
2. Resolution Changes under Nvidia Cards
With some Nvidia graphic cards the game may crash occasionally when changing screen resolutions in Desperados 2. The issues mentioned may be fixed by new Nvidia drivers released after March 2006.
3. Graphics Card not supported by Desperados 2
- XGI and S3 graphic cards such as S3 Chrome S25, S3 DeltaChrome S8, XGI Volari V3 and XGI Volari V8 are not supported by Desperados 2. However, the game may work on some of these boards.
- Matrox graphic cards such as Matrox Millenium P750 and Matrox Parheliaare are not supported by Desperados 2. However, the game may work on some of the boards by this manufacturer.

Installing and starting the game
------------------------------------------------------------------
If the installation does not begin automatically, please follow the instructions below to install the game:
1) Double-click on the "My Computer" desktop icon with the left mouse button.
2) Choose the CD/DVD drive with the game CD / DVD inserted by clicking the icon.
3) Double-click the "Setup.exe" file.
The installation program is now starting and the on-screen information will guide you through the installation process. Please read the on-screen information carefully before selecting an option.
The installer will notice if you have already installed a recent version of DirectX(tm) on your computer. In this case you can start the game directly after the installation. If DirectX(tm) has to be installed, you may have to reboot your computer before you can play the game.
If the installation was successful, you can start the game by using the link in the start menu or by double-clicking the desktop icon.
A digital version of the game’s booklet will be installed to your hard drive. You need to have Acrobat Reader 6.0 or higher installed on your machine to review the digital manual. After installation, the game will ask you if you want to install Acrobat Reader.
Uninstallation

You can uninstall the game by using the "Uninstall Desperados 2" link in the start menu or by using the "Add/Remove Software" option in the Control Panel of Windows.
Inexperienced users are advised to use the automatic uninstall option.
