Descent is a 3D first-person shooter video game developed by Parallax Software. The series has a strong following due to its unique six degrees of freedom (6DOF) gameplay. It is still cherished by a strong community of fans, particularly for its online multiplayer, and new levels continue to be developed. It spawned two direct sequels: Descent II and Descent 3.

How much longer will the source code be reviewed? Just finish it already!

If you want to get this working with the T.Flight Hotas X, open the archive with winzip and edit dosboxDescent.conf in the Descent folder (and dosboxDescent2.conf in the Descent 2 folder) and change the line that says:
joysticktype=auto
to:
joysticktype=ch
Then select the CH Flightstick Pro in Descent's control options. Not all of the buttons are available on the throttle, but all the joystick buttons are there (including HAT), the throttle axis work, and throttle buttons 5 and 6 can be assigned (the rest wrap). Although frankly, I suggest using the throttle but use the keyboard for weapon switching, and Descent's need for fast-paced forward and reverse works well with a throttle).

Hello, I'm having an issue with this game.
In that, it runs fine, perfectly fine and playable, but there is no sound or music. I've gone over all my settings and, it should definetely have sound but there isn't anything there. Is there any way to remedy this problem?

Why do they use DosBOX? Game works damn fine in DXX-Rebirth with high resolution and some modern control options(mouse+keyboard).

I have to agree using DXX-rebirth puts descent 1&2 in new levels. I recommend if you want to see the true beauty this game has to offer. Fans and new comers will enjoy this game even if its a oldy, but serves up Awesome goodies!!!

Your version of glibc isn't new enough. You need at least version 3.4.15.
