Dead Island combines first-person action with a heavy focus on melee combat, character development and customization of a vast array of weapons. All of these gameplay features are presented in a dark story inspired by classic zombie movies with a gritty and engrossing campaign that can be played with up to four players in co-op mode.
Set in an open world tropical island, hordes of different festering zombies await players around every corner while they embark on a variety of thrilling missions through the holiday resort. With firearms and ammunition being scarce the player must rely on utilizing found items as weapons for self-defense and fight off zombie hordes in intense melee combat. A diverse range of items can be collected and will later serve to transform the player’s ordinary makeshift weapons into serious instruments of destruction.

I like it more than Dying Light. Sure it's buggy but the environment is so much more interesting, a resort is an amazing place for sandbox gameplay.

I need to know the file and lines in Dead Island (normal PC version, no definitive) for disabling money in the crafting (repair|upgrade|create). Help me, please.
The only thing I don't like about the game is that the weapons break quite fast, which isn't realistic in some cases.
It creeps the hell out of me! o.O
This game is scary, what makes it good for me is creating the weapon system and most of the combat are melee fighting.
What makes it not that good for me is zombie respawning is really fast (i was on prison island and some thugs respawn real fast, running out of ammo, low durability weps, i GIVE UP) :D
And one more thing is, i hate escort mission in Jungle map
Single player, Dead Island was a superb experience. Close combat was exciting, navigating through the city level was a matter of picking battles and it created a sense of genuine fear and survival.
Co-op, Dead Island was an average to poor experience. Battles were about which player could get in first to do the most damage, run around without any fear.
One of those games better played by yourself :)
Yeah the game isn't as "open world" as I would have liked. The paths are very limited, no jungles or nature hikes, just small roads.
Now that Dayz is out I see Dead Island becoming more dead than it already is, mainly because Dayz is truly open world and can have more than 4 players so its essentially the first zombie survival horror MMO.
kind of surprising a game like that hasn't already come out, seeing as the friggin zombie apocalypse centers around survival, not co-op objectives or run for the end of the level scenarios. Those should all happen in a game spontaneously. I don't know why developers haven't done it yet, they must be stuck with all their left 4 dead wannabe ****.
This game is alright, not the worst I've played. It has an adventure element to it which is what makes games fun. The re-spawning zombies can kill the fun since NOT everyone wants to beat zombies to death with a lead pipe one after another the entire game. Too much battle, too repetitive.
Mapping is creative.
