Day of Defeat offers intense online action gameplay set in Europe during WWII. Assume the role of infantry, sniper or machine-gunner classes, and more. DoD:S features enhanced graphics and sounds design to leverage the power of Source, Valve's new engine technology.

A video tutorial which demonstrates how to make a map for the original Day of Defeat modification using the Valve Hammer Editor

[page=Introduction]
This Day of Defeat mapping tutorial is presented in a video format and can be downloaded here. Though it is focused on building a map for the original DoD, the fundamentals and many of the points discussed can be applied to DoD: Source, HL and Counter-Strike.

Please note that I did not create this tutorial and nor do I know the editor other than the fact that he calls himself "RJ". This is a great tutorial which was long-ago lost so I have decided to resurrect it, hoping that it may help other people as much as it has helped me. I have included a few screenshots below for preview purposes.

Happy Mapping!

There are a lot more full servers in DoD than DoD:S. Though it's mostly Chinese people and bots.

Yeah, it's a tutorial for the original DoD, but the concepts still apply for source mapping, and I have not been able to find any source mapping tutorials that are as helpfull as this one is.
