Based on Warhammer 40,000, deep under the central desert of Kronus, a vast honeycomb of skull-lined tunnels and funeral chambers house the awakening Necron menace. Eons ago, these were the boulevards and squares of a great necropolis built to house the bones of the races who had fallen to the Necrons, and ultimately were where the Necrons themselves retire to spend eternity. Over millions of years, sand and rock had covered it all until ill-fated excavations awoke the deathless.
Traitor Version. Welcome to the final map in my Horus Heresy map pack for Dawn of War: Dark Crusade & Soulstorm. UA compatible.
Istvaan V is an 8 player, 5v3 map for Dawn of War: Dark Crusade and Soulstorm.
This version of the map is set up so that players 1-5 are the traitors. If you would like to play as the Loyalists, please see the Loyalist version released a few days ago. See Setup below for more information.
The battle of Istvaan V, or more commonly known as the Dropsite Massacre, was one of the first open military conflicts between the Imperium of Man and the traitor forces of Horus. Here nearly 11 full legions clashed in a battle of epic proportions. The initial battle consisted of the loyalist Salamanders, Iron Hands and Raven Guard pitted against the traitorous Sons of Horus, the Emperors Children, World Eaters and the Death Guard. Unbeknownst to the loyalists, their second wave of reinforcements, consisting of the Alpha Legion, the Word Bearers, Night Lords and Iron Warriors had secretly sided with Horus.
This battle marked the point of no return for the Imperium.
