Darkness is a linear (with optional side-quests) first-person Horror Adventure game. Six people over the prior month have gone missing from a hotel. You, a hired detective, have been brought in to investigate. Only problem is, this investigation will be a bit more than you bargained for. The setting is in the early 1920s. World War 1 just ended, prohibition just got added as the 18th Amendment to the United States Constitution. The world is in a frenzy and you're at the thick of it, dealing with possibly one of the most unique cases you've ever had. Will you - Can you survive the darkness?

What's this? No muscle-bound hulk? Preposterous! It looks pretty good, though if you were going for realism, I imagine that would be a fairly uncomfortable position after a while. It's amazing how good you guys are making this look especially considering the limitation of no real-time shadowing.

Always a pleasure to read your comments =D Yeah, you would get a bit tired probably, but we can't just take away the only source of light you have for realism in this case. Besides, the entire course of the game won't be longer than an hour (30min - 1 hr is the time goal).

As for the muscle bit, yeah, I'm getting a bit sick of seeing games with ripped guys as well. The average human male just isn't going to have a ton of muscles. Even for military games like Gears of War. If anything I think having a ton of muscles in situations like that would be a hindrance.

It looks nice, normally when I use a torch I hold it out in front of me, but that is just me a suppose. Looks nice for so early in development.

Definitely liking it so far :) though if it's the 1920's and the character's a private detective, along with investigating a creepy hotel on a stormy night...well anyways, maybe in the future make the sleeves more like a trenchcoat-ish sleeve. Don't have to of course...just with the setting and my love of characters with trenchcoats, I wanted to suggest it :)

Or maybe that was the intention in the end; I do realize it's a WIP.

Description

This is the current WIP arm model. The texture work isn't done, and there will be likely tweaks made to the model (or maybe a remake in DemonProwler deems it).

Currently the idea is that, when looking around in FPS view, this arm will move too (instead of just being static in a fixed point on the screen). Sort of replicates how we naturally move, though not perfectly. Just throwing this out there for anyone who thinks the arm is positioned badly. I was aiming it to look at the clock.
