LAIR! isn't just a retro game, it's designed from the ground up to be the last 2D Role Playing Game you'll ever play. What Makes LAIR! Different? At the core structure of LAIR are the Entity Generator, Map Generator, and the AI. Together, these three components allow for a game that constantly generates new situations, monsters, items, and an endless supply of character choices and actions. This is because LAIR! makes pervasive use of procedural content generation. But many games do this, virtually all roguelike games, for instance. The game is unique in the way it allows the user has to affect the environment based on his or her preference. Each part of the game is designed to reuse the same basic parts, allowing any individual in game entity to be changed directly into any other in game entity. Because of this, players can gain control over the dungeon and remake into their own underground fortress. Hence the name, LAIR!
