You wake up in a dark alley, not knowing anything. What has happened anyway? You struggle after the truth and answers. Answers you want to know in the darkness and fear, which makes your heartbeat race like violent blows against your head. Where do "they" come from? What has happened? Are you just turning insane? The time is up; you can't stay there reading your smses forever. It's time to head out and find the answers. Cry of Fear is a singleplayer modification of Half-Life 1 which brings you the horror you've always been afraid of. It's a total conversion of Half-Life 1, which means it uses NO Half-Life 1 content or other peoples' files. It's all made exclusively by the developers. It also uses new gaming styles that you will rarely find in Half-Life mods, such as advanced cutscenes and other stuff that will be revealed at a later date.

Should really make it where you have to find tapes in order to save. It makes people more conservative.

"However, now that I think about it, maybe in the hardest difficulty setting maybe you will need to find tapes to save..."

Try reading the description, nerds?

Yeah I read it, but I was talking about making it mandatory for all difficulties, punk.

Your point being? Minuit was talking about the possibility of implementing tapes for the hardest difficulty setting, whereas your first comment made you sound like a nerd who didn't read the description and pretended to have the brilliant idea of adding tapes, without further elaborating that it should be implemented for all difficulty settings. Most people cannot read minds over tcp/ip bro.

Maybe add a function to the mobile for n00b mode so you can ring up the phones tape recorder and leave a message after the beep, do it too many times and your phone credit runs out and then you have to go get a job making wooden spoons for ben & jerrys just to pay the phone bill, lol.

Keep up the amazing work and dont change anything here, tis gr8 the way it is

Great to hear :) I always loved the Resident Evil-esque save system, and it's great to see it implemented into a mod that's showing so much promise, let alone one I'm eagerly awaiting the release to.

Awesome. But I downloaded a mod that had a custom save / load window and changed all GoldSrc games, this will be unique to the Cry of Fear, or will change in some other GoldSrc game? Sorry bad English.

Description

The old HL save/load system really annoyed me, so I made a new one. This is all ingame and 100%. No Photoshop or tricks or whatever.

To save the game, you need to find a tape recorder, which are spread out in numerous locations throughout the game. Very similar to Resident Evil's typewriter system, except you don't need anything to save your progress. You may save as often as you wish.

However, now that I think about it, maybe in the hardest difficulty setting maybe you will need to find tapes to save...

This is just one of MANY things I've done to knock out all the stupid HLish shit.
