You wake up in a dark alley, not knowing anything. What has happened anyway? You struggle after the truth and answers. Answers you want to know in the darkness and fear, which makes your heartbeat race like violent blows against your head. Where do "they" come from? What has happened? Are you just turning insane? The time is up; you can't stay there reading your smses forever. It's time to head out and find the answers. Cry of Fear is a singleplayer modification of Half-Life 1 which brings you the horror you've always been afraid of. It's a total conversion of Half-Life 1, which means it uses NO Half-Life 1 content or other peoples' files. It's all made exclusively by the developers. It also uses new gaming styles that you will rarely find in Half-Life mods, such as advanced cutscenes and other stuff that will be revealed at a later date.
We decided to add a multiplayer co-op campaign. More information will be revealed later. Until that, enjoy those screenshots, and please tell us what you think!

Just wondering, how will you keep it from turning into an action game?
It would be quite lame to have your friend type "lulz i died, dont go in the alley."
I think a good way to combat that is to have 't' to type, which has limited range, and 'y' to radio, which would have unlimited range, but cut out when... things happen. You cannot communicate when you are dead.
EDIT: Also, will you be able to change/customize characters? I would suggest just having you select a gender, and keep the models relatively simple, facially. That way, you could preserve immersion a lot better.
Most people don't use defauly controls... it'd be easier to say: No text/mic when dead. Mic as range (like Resistance and Liberation).
I just wonder tho, how much code would go into making a ranged voice com, like RL/NMRIH. The problem is when ur talking and all of a sudden no one responds and ur like "WTF where r u"?
Or they coudl simply enable text n mic all the time but have a game over when one of you dies. RE5 anyone?

Awesome! How is it handled if one guy dies? Do both players lose? Does only one continue? I believe, respawning would be out of question.
