Counter-Strike: Source blends Counter-Strike's award-winning teamplay action with the advanced technology of Source technology. Featuring state of the art graphics, all new sounds, and introducing physics, Counter-Strike: Source is a must-have for every action gamer. Game updates since mid 2010 are done by Hidden Path Entertainment.
Inspired from Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2, The Cosmic Campaign is a massive string of maps, triggered to play one after the other as a large single-player AND mass multi-player compatible campaign.
Currently being developed in CSS for expandability it will grow as more and more maps are added to the project. All custom content is embedded into the .bsp's, making it significantly more efficient to distribute the project through servers, and for creative custom goal possibilities the project has been put under the community driven Counter Strike: Source genre of 'minigames'.
Here is the initial release, copied and pasted from various posts to distribute it to popular minigames servers for Counter Strike: Source
----------------------------------------------------
Hey guys, I've been working on a project called The Cosmic Campaign for quite some time now. It is a large project that is basically a bunch of mini games maps strung together into one large campaign that people can play together or entirely by themselves. I've had some recent trouble getting servers to even respond to my posts when I request to distribute my maps on their other servers. But hopefully you guys are more interactive and polite with something new like this. I've supplied the links for the individual downloads of the first three maps of The Cosmic Campaign (due to past downloaders claiming that they could not extract the .bsp's from the .zip, the cause was assumed that I compressed them with IZArC instead of another more common .zip program). It is very important that you get all three of the maps because they are all connected, and by connected I mean they, when completed, automatically switch the server to the next map in line. But no worries, this shan't be NEARLY as annoying as you would think. The first three maps are quite short and small since it is only the beginning, but don't let that information discourage you from trying out the maps. I guarantee you, with over 100 man hours of time creating and perfecting these three consecutive maps in hammer (map making program for those who are unaware), I can promise these maps are very in favor of eye candy, and each and every different map in the campaign will have it's own unique and specific objective that is completely compatible with single, OR mass multiplayer.
So without further delays and pre-information allow me to present to you...
Intro: Gamefront.com
The Intro map does not have an objective, it is merely a small, friendly looking moon orbiting a massive planet
- -
that contains similar Earth looking features. The intro map contains information about the entire campaign, and lots and lots of eye candy. You've got your shooting stars, your ambience music, your background planets, background stars, a cozy house,
- -
and even a little secret that can be found to increase the amount of bad-ass things to look at. This map will most likely not be played as much as the ones with things to do in them, merely because players may get a bit bored but no worries, any player in the map, after a certain time limit, can execute an action using the map that allows them to switch it ONLY to the map following which is Chapter 1.
Chapter 1: Gamefront.com
In Chapter 1, players now have an objective, but it is a fairly easy one to complete alone or with some friends. The Cosmic Campaign chapters will get increasingly difficult the further you go into the campaign, since this is only Chapter 1, it is still fun but there are no actual hazards. Chapter 1's objective is coin collection,-
-
themed after the Puzzle Cube level from Super Mario Galaxy 1, players roam around a free floating cube in the sky orbiting a huge distant planet.-
-
The gravity changes are simulated through over 100 different teleports, unnecessary work? maybe. Fun as hell to play? definitely. Once all 200 purple coins are collected, the music changes and the star appears, ready to be collected. Again there are no enemies, hazards, or any kind of map related time limit, this is only Chapter 1. Hint: In this map as well there is a secret to be found. (Special thanks to Phoenix and Necromunger <<<- creator of starcraft: source which is still in beta- for creating the custom model and texture for the purple coins.
Chapter 2: Gamefront.com
In the third and final map of Cosmic Campaigns first release, the objective here is just a typical obstacle course, but very strictly themed.
- -
No stupid platforms that just sink when you touch them for bhop, no more teleport failures, no more ramps that push you through the air to dodge obstacles as you strafe. No in this obstacle course, the goal is to get to the end alive and each and every challenge that you face along the way relates to the type of planet you are on.-
-
Yes, that is correct you are on a planet in Chapter 2, Well more like IN one, a very hot one at that. Inspired from the level Melty Molten Galaxy from Super Mario Galaxy 1, you go through various platforming challenges dodging lava rocks, lava spews, and even lava monsters. This is where things in The Cosmic Campaign begin to get difficult, thankfully though I've created it to allow unlimited spawns, as any obstacle map normally has, merely by joining the team of Spectators WHEN DEAD, then joining back onto the team of Counter Terrorists. This is the most detailed and most fun of all three of the maps, says my beta testers.
I hope you've enjoyed my little descriptions of the maps. Please take my maps into strong consideration, I've spent numerous hours creating them all and play testing them all and finally I believe that they are ready for their releases.
Thank you for your time and patience with this long lonnnng post.
Sincerely: darktemplar
P.S. Apologies for the texture quality of the skyboxes presented in the images of the maps. My graphics card is not the newest and best of them now a-days. I guarantee you it will look much sharper and prettier in your game.

The project is currently pretty early along and is in dire need of contributors, the most useful would be:
Texture Artists (this applies to anyone who can alter a pre-made image, create an entirely new image, or convert either or types of images into usable vmt and vtf file formats for being embedded into a .bsp playable map file format.)
Modeller/Animator (This applies to anyone who can model, animate, model and animate, give pre-made models textures, and most importantly compile the model with any and all necessary segments to it i.e. textuers and animations to the model, into usable Source Engine model file formats for being embedded into a playable .bsp map file format.)
Assistant Mapper (This applies to anyone with relatively decent experience in triggering, realistic detail and/or advanced optimization knowledge.)
If you or someone you know fits any or all of said contribution skills please contact me, I am ready and willing to get some help for this thing to get off the ground, it is already fairly close to being ready for an acceptable trailer for youtube for its first real episode release.
