A question to the developers of this game, I can only set the resolution to a max of 1680x1050, but the native resolution of my monitor is 1920x1080, it isn't a big deal at all with a game like this, but are their any plans to patch in the ability to scale higher resolutions like 1080p?
Cool question :) I don't think there is a software limit to what resolution you want to set. Have you tried using 1/2 or 1/4 of your native res? If you find that 1/2 or 1/4 resolutions look blurry, it's probably because your have anti-aliasing enabled on your video card (which looks awful for pixel art games). Also, you can edit your "settings.ini" and switch to OpenGL graphics: "[video] plugin=Plugins\AgenOGL.dll" just to see if that looks any better than DirectX.
If we ever get the chance to re-factor the game I'll try to remember your suggestion. Man, I wish we had the time to go back and rewrite the collisions and controls for the game too... but we have a few other projects going on right now...
Yeah, sorry to waste your time with trivial things, I actually managed to change it to 1920x1080 by changing my desktop resolution to 1680x1050, then it let me change the res in-game, then I just changed my desktop res back. Weird.
Do you mind if I what your other projects are? Playing Commando I was thinking that a game using that engine and look, but isometric, would be really awesome.
Glad you managed to get that working. :)
Yes, something like Commando could work with an overhead perspective too. The thing is, action games like this need to be very scripted, which is fine, but I think it would be more interesting to do a procedural game where the focus would be more on exploration. Prototypes tend to take a life of their own though, so I can't say for sure how it would turn out. :)
Is windows version only playable through Desura? Or is it downloadable to the hard disk?
Yes, the game is downloaded and played through the Desura client. If you want a standalone installer you can get the game from BMT Micro on 2dengine.com
Just bought it, I just hope this game doesn't end up in some bundle in the near future.
No risk of that anytime soon. Thanks for buying it though and I hope you enjoy the game!
Thanks for the info.
Multiplayer do buy the game, is so fun. Nice work.
Is there gonna be a linux version?
lots of Desura Games have linux versions!
Maybe at some point in the future. Right now we are porting our engine to iOS.
I would definitely buy a Linux version of this game.
Me too.
