Claustrophobia: The Downward Struggle is an indie RPG roguelike, with a retro graphic style and a terrible sense of humour. The game takes place in a series of ever descending randomly generated dungeon floors, packed full of monsters to slaughter and loot to pillage. The game plays like a traditional roguelike, but with a clean UI, a slick, action orientated combat system, and a massive range of enemy types, skills, gear and room designs. With features like crafting, skill trees, characters development, and just-one-more-room style gameplay, Claustrophobia is a love letter to traditional RPG rougelikes. Create your ideal hero, build your own custom class, then set out on your quest for glory, slaughter, and anything shiny!

Bought the game like a few hours ago, had some great fun so far!
I struggled mightily in the beginning, I didn't know that I got skill points, nor how to access the skill panel, didn't know I could shift-click to loot, didn't know how to sell items. I did record my first hour-ish or so, Sv.twitch.tv if you want to see it. I'm Swedish so every spoken word is in Swedish, but it'll give you a nice idea of how the first hour was for me. After that short session, I stopped recording and realized all of the things above, got my char to lvl 11 with some pretty sweet gear, got a great epic ring with like +6int/agi/stamina, got a gold bar and made a healm with 12 armor/10stamina, I believe I had around 40 armor at the time with an 8dmg weapon. Oh and allow me to ask, is it possible to dual-wield or make a shield or something, considering the L and R on the equipment screen? Anyway, so I got my lvl 11, feeling strong, still ignoring Vampieere, but when I round one of his rooms he sneaks through a corner and kills me fairly easily. His room was open in one direction with a door outside it so it was possible for him to move diagonally out of there. I assume this is some sort of bug though.
I've had really fun so far, I hope it keeps up.. don't know any recipes really though, other than sword, bow, helmet, boots, legs and chest, but I'm hoping to figure more out.. Oh and my health doesn't seem to regenerate while moving using the keyboard, and I could never use the elitist potions..

Great, I'm glad you're enjoying it!
-The controls are posted over on my Blog, but there should be a tutorial up soon. I probably need a permanent controls page too for now.
-Duel wielding/shields don't currently exist, and I'm not sure if they will be. The L and R hand icons are carried over from the old combat system, so it may or may not be a feature later on.
-Diagonal doors is currently a umm... shall we say accidental feature? They shouldn't be spawning like that at all, as it makes no sense physically, let alone the fact that things can walk around them. It will be fixed later on when I revisit the level generation.
-Both of those issues are fixed in 1.0.5 (should be out next week)

Thanks!
